This affected Othello because he said that he had to kill Desdemona for cheating on him, finding out that she was innocent, Othello kills himself. Othello caused this event all by himself because of his character flaw lack of communication with his wife Desdemona. For example when Othello and Desdemona were having a conversation about the handkerchief, Desdemona starts off talking about the handkerchief “...Then would to Heaven that I had never seen ’t!” (Act 3, Scene 4, Page 5). Othello replies harshly in a angry tone then kept bringing up the the handkerchief while Desdemona tried to tell him to talk to Cassio about his job “...Fetch me the handkerchief—my mind misgives.” ( Act 3, Scene 4, Page 6). This quote is an excellent example for showing Othello’s character flaw lack of communication which lead to his death because he didn't talk to Desdemona. Othello killing himself was because of lack of communication from Desdemona talking about Cassio. Othello was convinced that Desdemona was cheating on him, so Othello took matters in his own hand and killed Desdemona. This show that Othello changed throughout the play because in the beginning of the play he was fully in love and committed with his wife until Iago gave Othello reason to trust him for giving him cause to doubt his wife. When Iago told Othello about Desdemona cheating he wanted have proof of this “Give me a living reason she’s disloyal.”( Act 3, Scene 3, Page 18). Othello wanted to trust Desdemona but trusted Iago because he showed Othello the proof of Desdemona. This shows that Othello trusts Iago because after this quote he addressed Iago as honesty Iago when talking about him. This is how Othello fate was determined, not trusting Desdemona who was innocent but Iago the main villain that wanted to ruin Othello. Othello was about to kill Desdemona “ By heaven, I saw my handkerchief in his hand. O perjured woman, thou dost stone my heart,And mak’st me call what I intend to do a murder, which I thought a sacrifice!I saw the handkerchief.” ( Act 5, Scene 2,Page 4). This shows that Othello still thinks Desdemona was a liar and untrustworthy because of “honest” Iago planted the handkerchief in Cassio’s room. Othello trust issues lead up to his fate of killing himself because of not trusting/trusting the right
