If Could Invite Three People to Dinner
"If I were invited to a dinner party with my characters, I wouldn't show up." But if I had the oppurnity to invite three people over for dinner I would invite Lauren Hill because she is my favorite musian and writer, the second person that I would invite is Twiggy because she is a legend in the modeling industry she was the first teen supermodel the third person I would invite to have dinner with would be Paul Lawrence Dumber because he was a great poet and an ascent to the Harlem Renssiances. This paper will explain why I would choose to invite these three people to my house for dinner.

The first person that I would choose to have over my house for dinner would be Lauren Hill because she is my favorite musician but that is not the only quality I admire about Lauren Hill I also thin she is an amazing writer one of my favorite songs by her is called "War in the Mind "This is one of my favorite songs because she talks about real problems that people go through everyday whether it be political, national are just within ourselves. Lauren Hill has been called the mother of hip hop invention by successfully integrating rap, soul, reggae, and R&B into her own sound. If I had the chance to sit down and talk to her I would ask her where dose she get the inspiration for her material and how important is it to have your music relate to real life issues. I remember the first song I heard by her "Strumming my pain with his fingers singing my life with his words killing me softly with his song killing me softly with his song telling my whole life with his song. Killing me softly. I believe that how it went. Lauren Hill's music is inspirational authentic and relatable why would not Lauren Hill to come to my house for dinner?

The second person on my invite list is modeling legend Twiggy; yes she is one of the judges on Americas Next Top Model. I have been a fan before she emerged on American Next Top Model. Twiggy is known for the high fashion mod look

Any story has the potential of becoming a classic novel that is read and loved by thousands, but the dimension that makes or breaks these stories lies directly within the characters involved. In Arthur Miller’s playwright, The Crucible, a plethora of distinct personalities are introduced, and it’s the unique interaction and histories between these people that expedites the entire story. Likewise, in the novels Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, and The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the narration of the tale is told from the perspective of characters that are distinct from any others involved. Nick Carraway possess the eyes through which readers experience The Great Gatsby, and though Carraway is a relevant figure throughout…

Imagine the hardships that would occur if your life was turned around in the blink of an eye. This happens to Mildred in the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury and Mary in the short story, “Lamb to the Slaughter” by Roald Dahl. The similarities between Mary and Mildred are impressive and they are worthy of detailed examination. This paper will focus on how they both had their life turned upside down, how they betray their husbands, and how they are groomed to represent their society. These three similarities stand out and should be looked at more carefully.…

The three musicians that I am thinking of in particular are Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Brett Eldredge. I would take Blake Shelton because he is s a great singer. Blake Shelton can wear the same clothes that he normally wears. Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are on The Voice together. They have an unusually weird bromance. They jokingly fight which is hilarious. Adam Levine is a great singer as well. He can also wear what he normally does. Another reason that I would like to bring Adam is that he is hot. The main reason I am bringing Brett Eldredge is that he is amazingly handsome and tall. I saw in concert last month and he great. He tall and you can tell that he would have great stories. A lot of country singers are beautiful and I would take any of them that want to tag along. I would most personally ask Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, and Brett…

An dining hall containing no more or less than the necessities for a comfortable dinner, materializes seemingly out of nothing. Enter Jean-Jacques Rousseau, 18th century counter-enlightenment luminary; Charles Darwin, 19th century naturalist; Karl Marx, 19th century political philosopher; and Sigmund Freud, 20th century neurologist and founder of psychoanalytic theory. No one is alarmed that four influential thinkers whose lifetimes span over two centuries are meeting for an inexplicable dinner as they were in their intellectual prime. The wall lights autonomously dim as the fire roars despite itself, as the scene exits the whirling depth of the insubstantial and enters the tactile, at least for the authors……

The partaking of society is evident in many stories. Often society’s role is especially evident and plays a huge part in a story’s plot. In most situations, a rejection—whether by society or by the main characters themselves—occurs that typically results in complete isolation from the outside world. Such is seen with John Updike’s “A & P,” William Faulkner’s “A Rose for Emily,” and Katherine Mansfield’s “Miss Brill,” as the main character is generally has a dispute with society in some way. By analyzing the main characters in these stories, one can come to a conclusion as to how the contrasting of society with the main character gives insight into a character’s thought process and assists in developing him or her.…

Characters in pieces of literature are often influenced by the societies that they live in, and many authors do this to comment on certain social ideas. The story, “The Bass, the River and Shelia Mant”, the author focuses on how people in society should be able to take pride in who they really are and not feel the pressure to be something they are not. The author of “The Handsomest Drowned Man” wrote this story to show that people tend to make assumptions about people they do not know, based off of their appearance. Another story called “The Pedestrian” also has social commentary, and the author of this story is showing how society gets lazier as technology grows larger and smarter. These authors are providing situations and challenges of society by making social commentary through their literature pieces.…
