Mia isn’t really sure how to view the world because she’s very different from the rest of her family who are punk, rock type of people who have totally different views and beliefs on the world. Mia is pretty much a quiet individual who keeps to herself. Mia is also basically trying to figure out life and is trying to find her way and her place in the world. That’s what she’s …show more content…
trying to do throughout the book as her spirit tries helping her guide her way through.
Just like Mia, i’m not sure how to view the world. Everything is just so everywhere and is too much. Also just like Mia, i’m pretty much a quiet individual who keeps to myself a lot. Everybody wants me to view the world the way that they do, whether it’s a family member, a friend, somebody on TV, or just some random person on the street. But i’d prefer to just figure myself out and my place on the world. Just like Mia.
The world views Mia as this quiet, grown-up like person. She’s very well liked by everyone, even if they don’t know her well. Mia is known for her “good girl” personality and also her talented classical musical skills playing the Cello. As everyone says, she’s better than anyone at the Cello. Some people have judged her based off first impressions, she’s once been called a bitch, but a lot of times she’s called a goody two shoes.
The world views me as this shy, quiet, independent individual. I’m very well liked and well-known by many people, even people who don’t really know me that well. I’m known for my amazing personality and nice smile. Some of the world may judge me based off first impressions, but it’ll change other people’s minds once they meet me and get to know me better than what they may have heard or thought.
The conflict (p. 15-19) happens to be a very tragic accident involving Mia and her family, which includes her mom, her dad, and her little brother. Both her mom and dad die right on the scene, then she later finds out that her little brother didn’t make it. So throughout the book she’s a spirit who was lucky enough to make it in the accident and just put into a coma, so now as her spirit travels on throughout the book to decide whether or not she wants to continue living in her old life or start a new one or if she doesn’t want to go back to living without her mom, dad, and little brother and decides to die instead of going back into her body. But as the book goes on towards the middle to ending, she’s been watching and listening to all of her other family members, her best friend and her boyfriends reactions and thoughts on this whole situation involving her, she thinks for a moment what it would be like if she comes back. So then she decides to take all the strength everyone put into her and her boyfriend’s motivational speech to help her live again and she comes back into her body just barely noticing that she did and she wakes up.
If I were in Mia’s shoes, I would’ve taken all of this in and probably would’ve broken down to the thought of not living without my mom, dad, and little brother anymore and possibly having to start a whole new life.
Even though though knowing I wouldn’t have to live and do everything on my own because there’d still be my other family members, my one and only best friend, and my boyfriend. But eventually I would do the same thing as Mia, which is watch and listen to everyone else’s reactions and thoughts on my situation and then I would decide to take all the strength everyone put into me and take my boyfriend’s motivational speech to help me come back and I would just decide that I’m ready to go back into my life and try starting a new one with new memories with same people. Maybe even have new people in my new
life. I think me and Mia could be great friends. We’re just alike in many ways. We’re both well liked and well-known, even if they don’t know us. We both share similar views and characteristics, like for example, we’re both quiet, shy, grown-up like, etc. We both share the same talent category, which would be fine and performing arts. Mia’s talent being music, classical music to be exact, playing the Cello. My talent being art, all kinds of it, more so photography. That’s why Mia, the protagonist of “If I Stay” by Gayle Forman and I are alike in many ways. Therefore, I believe if given a chance, we could be friends.
