Wishing Upon A Star Have you ever had a dream, but you had to go on an adventure for it to come true. Pinocchio is a puppet with an amazing gift, yet with this gift he learns how to stray from temptation, but for him temptation is constantly following him everywhere he goes. Pinocchio has to also learn how to listen to his conscience, which happens to be a cricket, by the name of Jiminy. Together Jiminy follows Pinocchio trying to keep him out of trouble. On this adventure they escape from being held as prisoner, an island that turns boys into donkeys and rescuing Pinocchio’s father, Geppetto from the whale they call Monstro who swallowed him whole.
The night Gepetto put the finishing touches on Pinocchio, he made a wish to the wishing star for Pinocchio to become a real boy, which is comes true by the blue fairy. When Pinocchio comes alive, the blue fairy tells him in order to be become a real boy completely; he needs to prove to her that he knows right from wrong by listening to his conscience. Through the movie Pinocchio dreams of turning in to a real boy. In the end of the movie, Pinocchio dies saving his father’s life and the blue fairy sees that he has proven himself worthy and is reborn in to a real human boy. Like many people I have dreams that I want to accomplish. One of my biggest dreams was to graduate from high school, but in order to do that I had to pass my TAKS test. I proved I was worthy of passing, by showing up for tutoring every day and doing extra work sheets for practice, in the end dedication made my dream came true. I walked across the stage with my graduating class.
Pinocchio is easily tempted especially from the conniving con artist Honest John and Gideon, who tempt Pinocchio to skip school, to join a traveling puppet show that turns him in to a prisoner, for the Stromboli’s puppet show. When Pinocchio escapes he runs in to Honest John and Gideon once again, they convince Pinocchio that he is sick and he has to go to Pleasure Island to get better. When really the island carries a curse that turns troubled boys in to donkeys, yet Pinocchio manages to escape with only a tail and ears of a donkey. As of any person that has come across temptation in some part of their life. I to have gone into temptation by cheating on a diet but no one is perfect. Before I graduated high school I had horrible acne and was kind of on the heavy side. I then wanted to reinvent myself to become a better person. I worked out every day, I tried to eat healthy, and it was hard since my family cooks food with a lot of oil but I was pretty determined to lose at least ten pounds, but in realty with no diet pills or starvation. I lost twenty-three pounds, my family was so excited for me so we celebrated with cake which ruined my diet but it was worth it.
For the first couple days of his life Pinocchio had an adventure of a life time most of the bad, but experience new things such as show business, drinking, smoking, gambling but I think his biggest adventure is going to save his father from monstro, going into the ocean walking the bottom of the sea with the fishes swimming near him even though it was a bad situation he proved that courage and determination can make the best adventures by rescuing family or going into a different environment from what your use to. I love to travel and have adventures even if it is close by, there is always something new to explore. The world is always moving, time will never stand and I would like to experience every possible moment and thing I can do, and learn about different peoples lifestyles. That is why I like to travel just to increase my knowledge on the world knowing what going on around me.
One of the things I learned from this essay is I may not have had a big adventure like Pinocchio or dreams as big as his. But I can relate to him because I have had the same mischievous determined ways of making my dreams come true. Yes I have gotten tempted by my own Honest John and pushed back on my adventures but I pick up the pieces to overcome my challenges to make my dreams come true, and to succeed in life this is why I can relate to Pinocchio.

Jack Zipes, in his essay "Breaking the Disney Spell", directly addresses the issue of what happens when a story is taken from its original oral form and written down. Zipes discusses in depth what Walt Disney has done to fairy tales and the consequences of Disney's actions. Zipes addresses many issues, including those of context, society, and alteration of plot. He accuses Walt Disney of attacking "the literary tradition of the fairy tale" (344). While many scholars disagree with Zipes' accusations, his essay makes very solid and well-presented points that he promptly backs with fact. Regardless of what the scholars say, Zipes was right: Oral tradition is important, and Disney's representations of historical folktales damaged fairy tales as we know them.…
