If I Were a Boy
If I Were A Boy Remix
Beyonce ft. Lee Carr

If I were a boy
Even just for a day
I'd roll oudda bed in the mornin'
And throw on what I wanted then go
Drink beer with the guys
And chase after girls
I'd kick it with who I wanted
And I'd never get confronted for it.
Cause they'd stick up for me.

If I were a boy
I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
I swear I'd be a better man.
I'd listen to her
Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
Cause he's taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

If I were a girl
Even just for a day
I'd get oudda bed in the mornin'
And take forever to ready.
Complain to my friends
As if they got a man. (Ohh)
They talk about you cause they jealous,
I just steady listen to it
I should get rid of them.

If I were a girl
I don't think I'd understand
How it feels to love a boy
I swear I'd be a better woman.
I'd listen to him
Cause I don't know everything.
I would always try to tell em
That he needs to treat me better
Like I don't godda change at all.
If I were a girl

It's a little too late for you to come back (No)
Say it's just a mistake
Think I'd forgive you like that (I don't)
If you thought I would wait for you
You thought wrong (I'm better off)

But you're just a boy
And you're just a girl
You don't understand (No)
Yeah you don't understand (Oh)
How it feels to love a girl someday
You wish you were a better man
You don't listen to her
And you don't listen to him
You don't care how it hurts
You don't care how I feel
Until you lose the one you wanted
Cause you've taken her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
But you're just a boy
And you're just a

In the movie version of “Boys and Girls”, there were many differences, such as the beginning. In the movie, we open into the scene where the first horse is shot. The girl and Laird are both watching, however another difference to the original short story is that Laird has an adverse reaction to the death of the horse. He runs out of the barn and away until his sister catches him and tells him that it was good that he saw, so he now knows what has to eventually be done in these cases. In the events leading up to the “great escape” of the horse, Laird is the one to tell her that the horse would be getting shot in the morning. After the escape of the horse, the father brought the horse back to the house alive, whereas in the book they butchered…

I forgive you for what you have done to me, however I will never forget the pain. I understand that in order for me to move forward with my life, I must forgive you not only for you, but for my own well-being. I cannot harp on the past and your hurtful decisions, I can only focus on the present. However, please understand and be aware that just because I forgive you this doesn’t mean that I want to rekindle my relationship with you. I am not reconciling with you, I am simply just forgiving you.…

I am here today to discuss the two Poems, ‘If I was the son of an Englishmen’ and ‘the man from Snowy River’ and their different representations and stereotypical aspects in both poems about Australia and Australians are fair and accurate or if they are exaggerated and inaccurate. The author Komninos Zervos wrote the poem ‘If I was the son of an Englishman’ in 1985, and later wrote the poem ‘Nobody calls me a Wog anymore’ in 1990. And the author Banjo Patterson the writer of ‘The man from Snowy River’ in 1890 with his other notable poems ‘Waltzing Matilda’ (1895) and ‘Clancy of the Overflow’ (1889). ‘If I was the son of an Englishmen’ expresses a stereotypical representation of Australia and Australians as racists and drunks who destroys the kangaroo, and ‘the man from Snowy River’ expresses a more romanticised feel for the true blue, bush life of Australia. The two poems show exaggerations wither as a warm fuzzy feeling about the bush or a feeling of disgust through racist jokes described in the poem ‘If I was the son of an Englishmen’.…

Detailed descriptions of the interior of the ship and the outlying alien planets let me visualize and believe the story. Using terminologies like chronometer instead of a clock and imagery like this particular excerpt from the story, "Woden was a ball, enshrouded in the blue haze of its atmosphere, swimming in space against the background of star-sprinkled dead blackness" the author let us into this space. Therefore I connected with the characters and felt the grave gravity of the entire situation.…

The movie Miss Ever’s Boys is a documentation-drama that explores the social and ethical issues of the infamous Tuskegee Study of untreated black men with syphilis. The study lasted from 1932 through 1972, where the U.S. Public Health Service studied 600 poor African-American sharecroppers in Macon County, AL. There were 399 patients with chronic syphilis and 201 healthy men control group. Doctors treated the men with placebos, hid the true nature of their research, and withheld penicillin even after it became the standard and highly effective treatment for the disease in the mid-'40s. As 6-months turns into years, Miss Evers, the attending nurse involved in the study, continues to hide the secret behind the study and urges the men to continue with the experiment in hope of future treatment which never came, even with the availability of penicillin.…

As a modern audience, we must remember to be mindful of the society in which Shakespeare wrote The Taming of the Shrew when we analyze it. This was a time when marriages were made for the convenience of the fathers far more often than for a love already existing between the bride and groom; people often were married without having known each other for very long, and sometimes without ever having met. Instead, one hoped to find love within the marriage once it was in place, to learn to love one's partner--there really were no "better" options. It is also doubtful that acting upon "love at first sight," in any society, necessarily brings greater happiness in marriage than does the slowly-developed, consistent love of a married couple who have learned how to live with and for each other. These are the two contrasting relationships that we see in the play, the former between Lucentio and Bianca, and the latter between Petruchio and Kate.…

Boy Meets World was one of my favorite childhood sitcom; it shows ethical decisions that needed to be made in the era. The sitcom has multiple angles and perspectives of different issues and life lessons. The main character Corey Matthews goes through life long journey with struggles and mishaps with family and friends. Boy Meets World shows how the “average” teenager is life. During the time of the show, the Matthews made is seem that the most important thing in life was family and friends. This sitcom shows personal, historical, technical, ethical, cultural, and critical perspectives.…

The Iranian revolution of 1979 refers to the overthrowing of the last king of Iran. It was an Islamic revolution which attempted to replace Mohammed Reza Shah, with an Islamic republic under Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the revolution. Strong opposition against the Shah showed that the people wanted a religious ruler rather than someone they saw as an American puppet. Many Iranian people would think that the Shah was a ‘capitalist pig’ who ran a corrupt and repressive regime but tried to embrace western style democracy. In saying this, Iran was a very developed and modern nation during the Shah’s reign where students were educated together and westernization took over. The Shah, who was supported by many western powers, ruled Iran like a dictatorship. He oppressed his people, many of which were illiterate, and kept most of them in poverty which made him very unpopular. The people of Iran were living in an oil rich country, and yet poverty was not uncommon. They enjoyed freedoms unheard of in Saudi Arabia, yet were kept under the brutal force of the secret police, the Savak. On the other hand when Khomeini took over the government was a theocracy and ended all progression in Iran and forced his Islamic rules on the people. Iran became a completely different nation after Khomeini took power losing all its foreign industry and development. Khomeini believed that Iran was losing its origins and history to Americanization. He ruled using the Quran, the Islamic holy book. This meant new Islamic laws were imposed on people, a new dress code was coerced on woman while men had more freedoms displaying patriarchy in society. Freedom of speech and freedom of the press were ostensibly protected, at least as long as it did not contradict Islamic law. He expelled all other influences whereas the shah agreed with capitalism and modernization on the culture and economy. This caused Khomeini to cut off western influence…

First I just want to say that if I didn't have to watch this movie for class, then it wouldn't normally appeal for me to watch it. I didn't have anything against this movie; I just personally do not like watching movies that have a negative vibe like it did at the end of this movie. I know that this movie was supposed to be based on the true story of Teena Brandon, however, after watching this movie, I looked up the true story and it turned out that the movie was really faithful to the actual real life events that occurred.…

I would call my home life to be peaceful, loving and spiritual, since its just my father and I living together we have built a really good communicative relationship in where we share our thoughts on different point of views dealing from worldly issues, to sports and biblical truth. My outlook on authority and discipline wasn’t too my favor a couple of years ago in my teenage years. Growing up with my father I had to experience a strict but healthy side of discipline in which I didn’t agree with having a rebellious, know it all attitude. My father having the authority to discipline me in simple things such as, cleaning my room and putting things back where I got them from, were actually baby steps onto following rules. Also commands which required more than just an effort to accomplish. Those things, which we thought to be an enemy, brought fourth character and integrity. In other words those disciplinary tests I thought were senseless prepared me for the order I would have to submit to ordain by our heavenly father. We worship the lord in common ways to do so with sermons and songs but our main source of worship is in discussion of Gods’ marvelous works of creation and nature. My father and I deeply acknowledge Gods’ work on the earth and we worship in squeezing an orange and tasting the sweetness of Christ, which may sound absurd to one who isn’t sensitive to things of the spirit. Recognizing and not taking for granted everything the Lord has provided for us is the true heart of worship. Christian living is like nothing this world has to offer. In that alone it says much, but to touch on a couple benefits I’ve experienced not necessarily living as a Christian because now a days there seems to be a variety of ways a person can claim to be saved not showing any fruits of conversion, but I speak as a young man who has tasted Gods’ mercy and grace at first hand and I would have to say that the blessing of the true Christian living is having the understanding of how…
