PENDAHULUAN
IKEA adalah sebuah pedagang perabot untuk rumah dari Swedia. Pada musim dingin 2004, terdapat 202 toko IKEA di 32 negara di berbagai belahan dunia dan sekitar 20 yang dibuka pada 2005. Tapi masih sangat disayangkan IKEA hingga saat ini tidak memiliki cabang di Indonesia.
Katalog IKEA yang berisi info produk IKEA diperkirakan adalah buku yang pendistribusiannya kedua terluas setelah Alkitab dan biasanya diperbaharui tiap Agustus. Pengucapan IKEA adalah /i'ke.a/ seperti cara membaca bahasa Indonesia namun pengucapan lainnya yang banyak digunakan adalah /aɪ'ki:ə/ seperti kata bahasa Inggris, idea.

Menciptakan sesuatu yang lebih baik setiap harinya untuk kehidupan semua orang.
MISI
Untuk mensuport visi tersebut IKEA menawarkan jangkauan luas yang dirancang dengan baik, kebutuhan alat ruamah tangga di sediakan dengan harga murah agar memugkinkan setiap orang untuk memilikinya.

SEJARAH
Perusahaan ini didirikan Ingvar Kamprad pada 1943 saat ia berusia 17 tahun yang sekarang sudah menjadi salah satu orang terkaya di dunia. Mengapa di sebut sebagai IKEA, sebenarnya itu merupakan singkatan dari nama pendirinya, Ingvar Kamprad; dan tempat ia dilahirkan, Elmtaryd; dan desanya, Agunnaryd.
Awalnya, IKEA menjual berbagai barang, dari pulpen, dompet, bingkai foto, hingga jam tangan. Perabotan mulai masuk ke dalam daftar pada 1947 dan IKEA mulai merancang sendiri pada 1955.
