INTRODUCTION :-
Inconvenience in switching on a water pump installed in a remote farm is a common problem faced by farmers.
Many circuits have been developed to solve this problem.
Most of them are expensive and microcontroller-based. Here we present a cellphone-based remote controller for water pump.
By calling the cellphone attached to the controller, the water pump can be directly activated. The aim of the proposed system is to develop a cost effective solution that will provide controlling of water pump remotely and enable security against intrusion in the absence of owner. The system provides availability due to development of a low cost system. The water pump control system with an affordable cost was thought to be built that should be mobile providing remote access to the pump and allowing reliability. This system is designed for controlling arbitrary devices, it includes a cell phone which is connect to the system via head set. To active the cellular phone unit on the system a call is to be made and as the call is answered, in response the user would enter a three/four digit password to access the system to control devices. As the caller press the specific password, it results in turning ON or OFF specific device. The device switching is achieved by Relay. Block Digram:-
The water pump controller is connected to a dedicated cellphone through connector J1 with auto-answering mode enabled. The DTMF signal sent from the user end is decoded by the DTMF decoder and the corresponding binary-coded decimal (BCD) value appears on outputsQ0 through Q3. In this circuit only three of them are used.
Working of the circuit is simple. To switch ‘on’ the water pump, call the cellphone connected to the controller circuit and press ‘7’ once the ring stops. LED1 will glow to indicate that the water pump is switched on. The water pump turns off automatically after the preset time. LED1 turns off simultaneously.
Circuital Design:-
The circuit is built around DTMF decoder IC MT8870 (IC1), timer NE555(IC2) wired as monostable multivibrator and a few discrete components. The main component of the circuit is IC MT8870. This DTMF decoder has band-split filter and digital decoder functions. It offers the advantages of small size, low power consumption and high performance.
Construction:-
The circuit is built around DTMF decoder IC MT8870 (IC1), timer NE555
DTMF decoder IC MT8870:- One common DTMF receiver IC is the Motorola
MT8870 that is widely used in electronic communications circuits. The MT8870 is an 18-pin IC. It is used in telephones and a variety of other applications. When a proper output is not obtained in projects using this IC, engineers or technicians need to test this IC separately. A quick testing of this IC could save a lot of time in research labs and manufacturing industries of communication instruments. Here’s a small and handy tester circuit for the DTMF IC. It can be assembled on a multipurpose
PCB with an 18-pin IC base. One can also test the IC on a simple breadboard.
Timer NE555:- The LM555/NE555/SA555 is a highly stable controller capable of producing accurate timing pulses. With mono- stable operation, the time delay is controlled by one external resistor and one capacitor. With astable operation the frequency and duty cycle are accurately controlled with two external resistors and one capacitor.
Working Principle:-
This DTMF decoder has band-split filter and digital decoder functions. It offers the advantages of small size, low power consumption and high performance.
Once monostable timer IC2 is triggered, its output goes high for the preset time period. The time period depends on the values of resistor R7 and capacitor C4. It can be adjusted between 8 and 50 minutes using pot-meter VR1. The high output at pin 3 of IC2 energises relay RL1 to switch on the water pump.
The triggering pulse for IC2 is generated by DTMF decoder IC1 and the arrangement of diodes D1 through D5. Std pin of IC1 provides a high pulse when a valid tone-pair is received. Transistor T1 conducts only when outputs Q0 through Q2 and Std are high simultaneously. This can be achieved by sending digit ‘7’ through DTMF. Use relay RL1 with contact current rating capable of carrying the water pump’s current. To test the circuit for proper functioning, press switch S1 and verify 5V at TP1 with respect to TP0. Connect the cellphone to the controller using connector J1. Call this cellphone and press ‘7’ once the ring stops. At the same time , verify high-to-low triggering pulse at TP2.TP3 now should be high for the preset time period.
PCB Layout:-
An actual-size, single-side PCB for cell-phone-based remote controller is shown in above fig. and according to its component layout in Suitable connector implement on the PCB to connect the cellphone.
Assemble the circuit on a PCB to minimise time and assembly errors. Carefully assemble the components and double-check for any overlooked error. Use suitable IC socket for MT887 and NE555 ICs.
Result:-
In cellphone-based remote controller for water pump we are giving ringing pulse as input by calling on receiving cell which results in initiating water pump. Conclusion:- The cellphone-based remote controller for water pump is much better than expensive microcontroller-based remote controller for water pump.
Future Scope:- In switching on a water pump installed in a remote farm is a common problem faced by farmers therefore such product may be in demand in upcoming years. It can creat good market demand, as it operates on the cell phone so we can operate it from any where, there is no restriction of distance which may occurs in remote controlling system.

Global Financing and Exchange Rate Mechanisms: Hard and Soft CurrenciesCurrency is an item that is exchanged for goods and services. Currency is in the form of paper bills and coins. These paper bills and coins have monetary value and are considered either hard or soft currency depending on the originating country 's government. It 's estimated by the Bank for International Settlements that $6.4 trillion is internationally financed by banks around the world and that the total world banking assets are over $20 trillion (Hill, 2009). Hard and soft currencies are important because every international trade for goods and services requires them. When governments participate in trading they must guard their currency in order to protect their investments and transactions. The following paper will analyze hard and soft currencies and explain how they are used in global financing operations. Lastly, this paper will describe the important for managing risks with hard and soft currencies.…

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group are two global institutions created to assist nations in becoming and remaining economically viable. Each plays an imporant role in the environment of international trade by helping maintain stability in the financial markets and by assisting countries that are seeking economic development and restructuring. Inadequate monetary reserves and unstable currencies are particularly vexing problems in global trade. So long as these conditions exist, world markets cannot develop and function as effectively as they should. To overcome these particular market barriers that plagued international trading before World War II, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was formed. Originally 29 countries signed the agreement; now 184 countries are members. Among the objectives of the IMF are the stabilization of foreign exchange rates and the establishment of freely convertible currencies to facilitate the expansion and balanced growth of international trade. Member countries have voluntarily joined to consult with one another to maintain a stable system of buying and selling their currencies so that payments in oreign money can take place between countries smoothly and without delay. The IMF also lends money to members having trouble meeting financial obligations to other members. Argentina, Turkey, and Greece have recently received such help from the IMF, but the results have been mixed.…

My beloved sweetheart bastard. Jilted me, destroyed me and crushed me into broken red pieces. I stink and remember the day we were waiting for so long, but you then decide to run away. Why? Why did you do this to me? Was it because of me? Or was there something wrong? The wedding gown that I wore is decaying, rotting and disintegrating away as days past from that heart breaking day. Don’t think it’s the only the heart that b-b-b-breaks, the soul also b-b-b-breaks. I waited and waited and waited, but no sign from you. Where were you? You malevolent, wicked and corrupt man sent me through hell and allowed me to burn on that day and onwards.…

The United States imports goods and services, as well as exports goods and services in the global economy. International trade affects the United States’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and domestic markets. The government can affect international trade by imposing tariffs and quotas on imports. Foreign exchange rates affect how much is brought and sold abroad. International trade is beneficial to the United States, but sometimes it can be seen as unfair competition to the American workforce and businesses. In this paper I will put emphasis on international trade and foreign exchange rates and how those affect the GDP, domestic markets, and students. I will also outline some of the benefits on goods and services that are imported from other countries and how those contribute to United States’ economy in the United States.…

Towards the end of the Second World War, in July 1944, representatives of the United States, Great Britain, France, Russia, and 40 other countries met at Bretton Woods, a resort in New Hampshire, to lay the foundation for the post-war international financial order. Such a new system, they hoped, would prevent another worldwide economic cataclysm like the Great Depression that had destabilized Europe and the United States in the 1930s and had contributed to the rise of Fascism and the war. Therefore, the United Nations Monetary and Financial Conference, as the Bretton Woods conference was officially called, created the International Monetary Fund (the IMF) to prevent economic crises and to rebuild economies shattered by the war.…
