Migration is such a fragile issue because we are talking about people’s livelihood. It is definitely an issue that no one can afford to take lightly. Reading about refugees fleeing from their land due to war and persecution is heart-wrenching. Immigrants and refugees are running from something and their stories are horrific. There is always a great sense of loss that they experience…

An asylum seeker is someone who is looking for international protection, but their claim to be labelled as a refugee has not yet been determined. While a refugee is a person who has been recognized under the 1951 Convention relating to the status of a refugee. Each year the U.S. government generously admits immigrants into the country to live, work, reunite with their families, and pursue the American dream. Very often, people do not know what a refugee is, and what they have to go through, and once they do get informed about whom they are and their characteristics, they compare them to immigrants. What they don’t know is that these two peoples are very common but only come to a new country because of different reasons.…
For as long as America can remember, throughout the years, hundreds of thousands illegal and legal immigrants from all over the world come to the United States. Of the thousands of immigrants that come into America, they each have many different reasons and stories. Immigrants come to the United States, some to better their life and to go after opportunity’s that they could not do in their home country. Others are refugees and have no other choice but to flee their home country due to the wars and persecution. Over all immigration has held a major role in shaping our country, it promotes cultural movement of people and positively keeps the economy running in ways like increased employment and student graduating rates.…
The refugees are more likely to have the common support in our community because of the misconceptions about homeless people being associated with drugs and other personal consequences. Refugees were once a group of human beings who were free and had rights like everybody else until they were stripped away from them, which leads us to sympathize with refugees more than with homeless people who probably ended up in such a situation because of drug abuse, disregarding their education and etc;. Also, there are organizations and charities (that includes soup kitchens and shelters) which have been built to help the homeless in Canada, but refugees do not have that opportunity unless the government do something about them and help them start anew…

When an infant is born, whether it be a newborn human or a newborn animal, a mother will defend it against harm, but is this behavior naturally occurring? Firm believers of evolutionary psychology assert that, “evolution by natural selection, is at present, the only viable scientific explanation of the existence of complex biological and psychological mechanisms.” (Ploeger et el 2008) These beliefs are highly debatable and only serve as a theory as to why violence occurs. From, “Evolutionary Psychology,” many human behavior ecologists defend the theory of evolutionary psychology. However, this does not appeal to many psychologists in today’s day in age. (Downes 2014) So do all mothers, for example, become naturally aggressive in the defense…
