The United States is nothing more than the union of immigrants coming from different parts of the world. America carries all types of people; Indians, Arabs, Chinese, Mexican, Canadian, Salvadorian, Vietnamese, those are just to name a few. These people move to America for many reasons. I don’t believe anybody would leave where they were raised and born for some place they’ve never been to or even seen, but just have heard that it’s the place where you want to live and raise your family, that in the US they are many more opportunities than your country . On top of that the language is completely different. Knowing that you might not have a place to call home or know anybody is scary and freighting, But only if one has big dreams to have a career one day or have children that may have a better life that what they’re experiencing then that would may lead into migrating. These people are currently or were faced with poor working, and living conditions and other problems and that’s what they seek. Today, however, is much worse for immigrants. The late 1900’s to today immigrants are faced with social rejection, difficulty becoming citizens, poor living conditions, poor working conditions. Social rejection towards immigrants by American citizens plays a major role in the lives of immigrants today. Racism is a big part of this. Many people in our country today are still racist against people of diverse ethnicities. When immigrants come to our country and they cannot yet, speak English and they have different social customs thus, they immediately get rejected by society. This makes fitting in to American culture difficult for the immigrants because they feel like they don’t belong here as if they a were an
