CHAPTER 1
INTRODUCTION
Rationale of the Study The function of the feeding program is to give nutritious foods for less fortunate children who are malnourished in a certain area and also to impart knowledge to parents and also for children of what to eat in order to have a healthy body and to be away from any diseases. This requires a lot of preparation in order to deliver education effectively and appropriately in a simple and understandable ways. Because of this, it can help putting the children’s health status to normal. Malnourish is a dangerous condition where it can lead to numbers of illnesses due to low resistance and weak body. Legarda filed a Senate Bill No. 1347 which calls for the activation of the “Healthy Food for Poor Children Program” by mandating the DSWD, DA, DOH, and DepEd to coordinate with each other and establish feeding programs in low-income communities and depressed areas. Although the government has several feeding programs, the spirit of this bill is to mitigate hunger especially among poor children and pregnant women. As we have seen in our chosen area, the
