Chapter 1
Introduction
Suguna Industries was established in the year 1958 by Sri.G.Ramaswamy the Founder and Chairman of the Suguna Group of Industries. With continuous potential efforts they are now leader in the electric Motor and Pump Industry in India and have a special place as a household name across the country. They have built expertise in this industry since 1958. They have 9 main direct distribution centers and 1500 authorized dealers and sub dealers across India. They sell products in all the states in India and also export to North America, Australia, Italy, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Abudhabi, (UAE) and Nigeria. Suguna Pumps specializes in electric motors and water pumps, which find wide application in the domestic and industrial sectors. The vision to develop a pump for every application has today given the company the distinction of having the widest range of water pumps in India. Suguna pumps are manufactured to international specification standards for agriculture, industrial application, water distribution systems and aquaculture applications. The Suguna group is characterized by its drive for superiority, excellence and customer satisfaction. They have their direct branches in Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Cochin, Calicut, Bangalore, Hubli, Chittoor, Vijayawada, Secunderabad, Vizag, Jaipur, Indore, Pune, and Nagpur.

Management in Practice Issue
Maintenance department does the work of electrical maintenance and mechanical maintenance. They also should concentrate in housekeeping as the wastage and defects of housekeeping results in increased cost of production, unclean work place, health hazards.
