Tourism has many definitions, according to Goeldner & Ritchie, “tourism is the processes, activities and outcomes arising from the relationships and the interactions among tourists, tourism suppliers, host government, host communities and surrounding environments that are involved in the attracting and hosting of visitors.” It can be classified into three types; domestic, that is, within the boundaries of one country. Regional, which refers to travel within a set geographical location or international which is travel from one country to another in a different geographical location. Contrary to popular believe, domestic tourism is the most dominant of the three forms as it accounts for about 80% of tourist trips worldwide, but with regards to the Caribbean, it is international tourism that is dominant and most beneficial to the region.…

The push and pull motivational theory is referred by Dann 1977, the research of the theory explained why people travel and the tourism motivations of traveling. Dann 1997 mentioned that the reasons of pushing people go to travel are being anomie and ego enhancement. The push factor is related to the personal social- psychological motives, such as they want to escape from the routine of daily life to seek for some relaxation, the boredom might lead them to have the motivation of traveling. These are the factors that pushing people go travel and take a vacation, but the force of the motivation are tended to intangible. It also unrelated to the destination, it mainly related to satisfaction of their social needs. 1. Facilitator – Travel facilitators are the factors of why someone will think about travelling. The two main factors are disposable income and leisure time. The more disposable income and leisure time you have the more you will want to plan a holiday or a break. This means that Australians that have these factors will come to New Zealand because it is close and they can put more money into activities and accommodation. This affects New Zealand’s tourists demand because the Australians are one of our biggest markets so if these factors start to decrease then our arrival numbers go down and we wont get as much money put into our country.…

Most (95 percent) of the safari companies reported clients from the United States and United Kingdom (Table 22). Seventy percent of the companies reported clients from Europe other than the United Kingdom. Sixty-five percent said clients came from the Republic of South Africa. Nearly 80 percent of the clients were from three countries; United States (34 percent), United Kingdom (23 percent) and Republic of South Africa (22 percent). In 1989, 19 companies served 12,879 clients (Table 23). Several of the respondents were small companies, as many of the larger companies did not respond to the study. Therefore, the figures relating to client numbers may underestimate the true figures. The average was 678 clients per company in 1989. In comparison, 15 companies averaged 584 clients in 1988. Sixty-eight percent of the clients were hunters (in 1989). All 20 companies have an average of 83 percent non-hunting clientele.…
It really affects my views a lot because at first, I only knew all the advantages of the tourism industry that it will have an impact for the common good of the economy and of our country. It changed my perspective because these things are hidden; rarely to be discuss by others because it does not affect tourist but by some means greatly affect the locals residing from the tourist attractions. Having a government like now which is very lax and corrupt, those truths are inevitable to happen and it will occur repeatedly until we destroy our resources. These were the truths of Tourism but we are blind to see it, we chose not to see it and we are selfish for that. For me, all the blames will eventually end up to the government because they are the ones who have the authority over tourism sector and they should know how to control it. It is somehow true that our government is very dependent in the Tourism industry. They focus their attention too much that they forgot other sectors that will actually aid our progress as a well-improved country. In which, is very disappointing and now we are experiencing scarcity and inflation most of the time. My outlook about tourism had greatly changed since I read it and it is so disheartening to realize these things because I believed that it can really help the growth of our country however, our government is so useless that they did not do some actions. Moreover, we tend to abuse our resources and in the end, nothing left for our next generation. My views as of now, is that tourism is one of the factors that can help build up an economy and a nation with the helping hand of the government. The government should balance the other sectors because not all money can come with tourism but we just need more improvement to achieve a refine country.…
