Ans.

My dear (Friend’s name), Your letter had been waiting for me in our letter-box as I was away from home for a week. You know, I had a long cherished desire to visit Darjeeling, a place of natural beauty. So my joy knew no bounds when my parents agreed to take me there.

We reached Darjeeling by Toy Train and lodged in a hotel for a week. From the first day we started going out for sight-seeing. I was greatly charmed by the scenic beauty of the mountain forests, tea-gardens and the sky-kissing peak of the snow-covered Kanchanjungha. We visited the attractive spots like the zoo, the Victoria Falls, the Lebong race-course, the highest race- cource in the world. We also saw the ropeway from the North Point to the Rangit Valley. One dawn, we visited the Tiger Hill from where we had a wonderful view of the sunrise. It was a rare experience to us. The Mall was another attractive spot where we walked about in the afternoon. I can never forget the charming beauty of Darjeeling. No more today. Please accept my sincere love and convey my best regards to your parents. (190 words)
Yours ever,

Katherine Keil notes similarities between O’Connor’s story and alternate famous pieces of literature such as Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge. She compares the grandmother and the sailor in a few ways: their ability to alienate themselves, their selfishness, and their need to empathize as human beings. She indicates another similarity; both having epiphanies. While the sailors is said to be an “ongoing spiritually energizing earthly life”, the grandmother conceives a “Christian resurrection and eternal life.” Lastly, they both achieved clarity of vision and prove that “A good man is hard to find.”…

"Traveling is a fool's paradise," Ralph Waldo Emerson said. "I have no cranky objection to world travel for the purposes of art, of study, and goodwill, as long as the individual is first domesticated, or doesn't go abroad with the hope of finding something greater that what he knows. He who travels to be amused, or to get something he doesn't have within, travels away from himself…" While Emerson's comments may seem extreme to those who enjoy the occasional trip for leisure, he makes an important point regarding the value of travel from both a scholarly and personal standpoint. Studying abroad fulfills what Emerson sees as the deeper purpose of travel, which I realized last fall semester when I studied abroad at the University of…

Hello there my longtime friend. I hope this letter finds you and finds you well. I have long desired for us to be acquainted again. I often think about our times playing in the fields and streams of Knob Creek. Even though our parents were very strict and we didn’t get to see each other as much as we would have liked to, I cherish every memory we made together when we were children. I would love for you to come and visit my family and me, so if you ever conquer your fear of trains I would be happy to pay your way to come see us. I am still forever grateful for you saving my life on that hot summer day, if it wasn’t for your quick thinking I would not be here today.…

My first experience to this place became really memorable and joy full experience with my friends and teachers. The first day we reached Pokhara in the evening at around 5 o’clock, so, we went to Fewa Lake to enjoy the excellent view of sunset. Thereafter, some went for boating, some just roam around, some went to restaurants and some of us chose to enjoy ride on bicycle. We rent only one bike for three of us Chadani, Jyoti and me. Without knowing time, since it started to become dark, getting excited, we rented for an hour. At first, I was not confident to ride by myself so, Chadani, my friend gave me a ride, then I tried by myself with her help. And the funny part was I could handle it on my own. I felt like, “Hurrah, I can ride on my own.” The bike was really comfortable. As there was only one we rotated among us one by one. As it was already getting late for dinner, we could not make for 1 hour and returned to hotel for dinner as we have to be there by the given time.…
