When first starting in early childhood the perfect classroom environment can easily be mistaken for a perfect quiet controlled one. The truth is one that is controlled only in small proportions by the adult and dictated by the children can prove to be a much more thriving and conducive environment. When working in a preschool room variety and observation is one of the top two ingredients for a successful room among many others. When preschool is mentioned the age group that is ideal for this is a multi-age from 2.5 to 5 years old. As Dr. Montessori expresses that this allows children to mentor and learn from different ages of development (Jaruszewicz, 2013). The other ideals for a thriving classroom come from different curriculums and theories. The theories I will explore will be intertwining the classic Montessori methods and Reggio Emilia method with the more modern methods and principles of creative curriculum.…

With advancements in technology, some students have chosen to complete their schoolwork through the Internet, rather than in traditional classrooms. Those who support a traditional classroom approach to learning argue that it provides more of an opportunity for students to interact with the teacher and other students. Those who feel that learning over the Internet is better argue that it allows students to learn anytime and anywhere they choose. Do you feel education is better provided in traditional classrooms or when offered over the Internet? Write an essay to be read by a classroom teacher in which you persuade the reader that either traditional classroom education or Internet-based learning is better. 212). Total physical response is a technique teachers can use to see if their students understand the lesson and what they are learning. A teacher can check for comprehension by having student’s copy her hand symbols that she uses so her students better understand the lesson. For example, in a math lesson she uses her hands and arms to show and explain the different directions of slope. The teacher can also tell students to repeat what she is saying in order to fully understand the concept. The teacher can require students to talk to a partner to re-describe what they just learned. Teachers use a lot of repetition and mimicking to check for comprehension. I believe total physical response definitely helps students learn. All of these techniques allow the students to understand the lesson more easily. “Total physical response is an active learning approach for supporting comprehension in a low-anxiety atmosphere” (Krashen & Terrell, 1988, pg. 67). Total physical response can be used in a variety of subjects and lessons. “Through active participation, students learn new actions words by watching, imitating and responding to the teacher’s commands” (Shunk cited in Facella, Rampino, and Shea, 2005, pg.…
