I truly rate it 5 stars. I believe that this book, In Cold Blood, is one of the best books that I have ever read in my entire life. I think Capote did accomplish what he was going for, which was a deep sympathy for Perry. I nearly cried when at the end of the book Perry died with a rope around his neck because I felt so attached to him. I was so upset, because Capote had made me feel love, pity, and guilt for Perry, and he ended up dying. I really connected with him. But then, after I finished the book, I stopped and asked myself, “Where was this pity coming from?” Perry, in my eyes was a really good person that was trying to be better. He wanted self-improvement for himself. But, were these my eyes? Or was I seeing things as how Capote wanted me to see
