In Marble champ, By Gary soto, Lupe is a super shy girl who only is good at academic things and is not good at sports. Then she finds the sport marbles and now trains to be the best to win the marbles championship. She literally speaks in whispers as in she is very shy and does not really connect with people. But one thing Lupe really does good is believing in herself. “Believe you can and you're halfway there.” Theodore roosevelt said. By believing in herself, Lupe practices, and she has tons of encouragement.

The first reason Lupe Believes in herself, is because she Practiced a lot. For example, Lupe skipped her homework on day to practice marbles to get better. This shows she practiced because she would rather practice marbles to get
