Human rights are the rights inherent to all human beings, whatever is our nationality, gender, colour, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. But there are many non- democratic countries that do have a few fundamental human rights but freedom of a free speech is like a big dream for them. Freedom of speech is the right, to express beliefs and ideas without unwarranted government restriction.
We have big democracies like Australia, Germany or India, where people by and large take advantage of the certain liberties given to them. Free speech, that comes under the category of freedom of expression and is given to me and mostly all the residents of the democratic countries we have, well I say mostly because, the right to these kind of liberties may be restricted if a person is found guilty of a crime by a court of law. People take undue advantage of this and express their hatred through this medium. Hate speech is speech that offends, threatens, or else insults groups or individuals, based on their race, color, religion, national origin, any disability, or other traits.
I am clearly against hate speech seeing its dreadful consequences. First I would like to emphasize on the Muzzafarngar riots which were caused due to the various hate speeches given by members of different political parties which raised conflicts and finally uprisings and riots which led to millions of people becoming refugees and starvation of the public. Secondly, I highlight the recent Aarushi Talwar murder case which you probably know about already. The domestic servants of the Talwar family were suspected for the murder of Aarushi and were insulted by the media and therefore, today no one gives them any employment and their career is shattered, in spite of the fact that they were wrongly accused which was settled on later.
