In The Myth 'Demeter' By Edith Hamilton
In the Myth “Demeter” by Edith Hamilton the story is about a mother who gets her daughter taken away from her. I connected this to literature having answers about life with divorce or the separation of parents. In the story her daughter is taken away from her so she stops her powers, and isn’t herself anymore, but she goes out looking for her and at the end there is an agreement that Hades keeps her for one third of the year and Demeter keeps her for 2 thirds of the year. This is the compromise that they make. I feel like this answers the questions of separation which is part of a lot of people's life. This shows the struggles of actual peoples life just in the form of literature. Many people going through a similar situation and read this
