It could be a minor or misdemeanor crime or something as serious as a felony. Even if two people get arrested for what seems to be the same thing judges have different things they also look at. They can go back and look at a criminal's history, if the offender was the main offender or the accessory, whether anyone was hurt in the crime, if the offender was cruel or destructive to the victim, or even if the offender showed any kind of remorse or regret. Consequently these could all affect the judge's decision for their crime so sentences are never really consistent. It's not that the judge is racially bias or racist it just because of the fact everybody has different reasoning and some judges just may be harsher than others. It's just like parents. No set of parents is exactly the same. They all have different concepts and different rules for their children. Nevertheless to stretch that the criminal justice system overall is corrupted with racial bias is a mis accusation for a bigger picture that most don’t see. When we commit a crime, we all are treated fairly and are judged on the crime and the situation itself. Every crime is different and we need to remember that before we jump to conclusions.
