Civilizations have different animals because they have certain requirements that they meet in order to live somewhere. Some animals will not be able to survive in the desert or the freezing cold. The most common animals that meet all of these requirements is the cow, horse, goat, and sheep. The benefit of having domesticated animals are that they can help your civilization grow. They will eat all of your dead crops and then help you replant them by their fertilizer. They can also give you meat, milk, and warmth. When you have steel in your civilization you can invent new ways to do things, create, and develop. In order to have steel, you need to have make sure that you have iron ore, carbon-rich forests, access to flowing water for power and transportation. In order to maintain getting steel, you they had to have steel smiths, and order for them to make steel they needed to make sure they had dry weather conditions, Iron and wood to make and build the fires to melt the steel. If you have a small weak fire, you won't be able to melt steel enough to be able to form it. The Europeans had steel and the Incas didn’t. The reason the Europeans had steel and incas didn't is because they had semi Arid climate, Iron ore, a lot of specialists, and time to experiment with creating steel. So if they didn’t have domesticated animals and easy to grow crops, they would be working more and wouldn't have time to experiment. Steel allowed for the Europeans to strive because they could make strong sturdier weapons, create armor and weapons, stronger tools, and a printing press to communicate. The ability to make steel relates to geography and inequality in the world because they were a lot more gifted and advanced compared to the incas. It’s very unequal because if you were born into place with steel available, domesticated
