Independence day
before I begin to speak on this auspicious occasion I would like to thank to my teachers for giving me this opportunity of speaking on this occasion.
Today we are here to celebrate the 68th independence day of this great Nation, Bharat. Being an Indian, it is no less than an honour to give speech on Independence Day of our great nation and share my notions with you.
India celebrate her Independence Day on 15th August every year. The day is being celebrated since India won her freedom from the foreign rule on 15th August 1947 and became a sovereign nation. Being born in a free country, Living and taking breath in free air is a privilege given to us by great leaders of this nation, those who thought for this nations life rather than their personal lives.
There are innumerable number of leaders who fought for freedom some fought for spiritual development, some for social and some for whole country. We had spiritual leaders like Vivekananda who – while given his speech at Chicago Religious conference in 1993 – swayed the whole mass and compelled them to think that Indian intellectual is none less than any other in the world. We had leaders like Mahatma Gandhi who – by means of his non-violence practice gave a new ideology to this whole world. We had leaders like Dr. Ambedkar who worked throughout his life for the upliftment of the downtrodden of the Indian society, any many more. Today we are here to honour them, and to remember.
Concluding my speech, summarizing all my thoughts I want to say -
We owe a lot to our leaders, those who laid down their life so that the country could live. There are no such words that further can define their sacrifice for this vary nation. Our true service to our mother land will be the only true tribute to them.
Jai Hind, Jai Bharat

The year is 1776 and America has just gained its independence. But growing as a nation will take time. The United States of America was not always as powerful and influential as it is today. Shaping the country took time, money, and a lot of help from the people. The United States grew physically, politically, and socially from its founding through 1860.…

In History, we have always learned about heroes, leaders, and people who made accomplishments that in a way have changed the world. We live for what others have done. Any courageous step taken by an individual in order to achieve a goal, a belief, and seek for a right, comes only from a person with leadership, huge spirit, and greatness. We have always looked back at leaders in our history that have made life easier for us. For that, I would like to write about an extraordinary personality that has achieved a big, difficult step for the good of Indians. Mohandas Gandhi is considered for many people the man of the century. This poor man has done what powerful political rulers couldn’t do. The Mahatma had fought and joined many Indians against the British Rule. Not giving up for years, he succeeded in gaining independence. This Essay will talk about Gandhi’s journey of leadership and Independence. It will first briefly talk about his youth and education, and then it will discuss the beginning of his experiences and lessons in life, where he got his ideas from. It will also include the main causes that led him into his revolution of faith and truth, and the steps that led him into his nonviolence resistance and civil disobedience.…

The single issue which contributed to the American colonies declaring their independence from Great Britain was taxation without representation. You see, while Great Britain was fighting with France to protect the colonies during the Seven Years’ War, they accumulated a lot of debt. As a result, members of Parliament determined that the colonies were obligated to share the costs of empire. The efforts to rectify these deficiencies and collect extraordinary amounts of revenue from the colonists, violated what many American colonists understood as the clear precedent of more than a century of colonial-imperial relations.…

Economic struggles, ethnic and racial discrimination, and dictator like leaders preying on their own people, are just some of the terrible things that have happened to innocent people throughout our history. People across the globe have suffered the results of such discriminations, but courageous men and women have pulled many of those people from these factors that plague their lives to freedom. We categorize these individuals as leaders. A prime example of a leader who has lead a nation to a new beginning was a man from Porbander, located in the British Indian Empire, Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi. Gandhi was a true leader that lead many people to a home ruled India. Gandhi demonstrated the characteristics of a true leader and caused masses to follow him to peacefully protest and to pursue the independence of the nation of India from British empirical rule through.…

Freedom is often taken for granted, misunderstood and sometimes misused by some of us. If we go beyond the limited political meaning of the word and examine it further, freedom means the absence of fear and the right to make choices. Freedom is about ownership, responsibility and self-control. This is how we understand freedom at Indus and this spirit of freedom was celebrated at Indus on the 64th Indian Independence Day. In the words of Swami Yogananda Paramhansa ‘Better than Heaven or Arcadia I love thee, O my India! And thy love I shall give To every brother nation that lives’. As the Indian and Korean Independence Days coincide, in true International spirit at Indus, Lt. General Arjun Ray unfurled the Korean flag along with the Indian. The celebration continued with a brief cultural event including a student’s speech outlining the necessity of setting goals and aligning those goals to the vision of a stronger India. The PYP students gave an endearing and heart-warming performance when they sang “nannha munnha rahi hun”. The IICS students struck a chord with the Hindi and Kannada version of “Where the Mind is without Fear” while the ITARI students had the entire hall clapping along with a powerful and soul stirring rendition of the song “Mera Desh , Mera Mulq, Mera yeh Vatan…”. The dance performance by the Senior Indus Students was a sheer visual treat with a kaleidoscope of colors against the pristine white.…
