Watching the movie Indiana Jones The Raiders of the Lost Ark was great to feel like you're there. And you can tell there a relationship between Jones and Marion because they seem to have already met and have a past relationship and to pick up back where they left off and helping with that happening in the movie helped me find the theme of the movie i’m not gonna lie was very difficult but I found a couple of possible themes one theme I picked was action. Action because there was a lot of action in the movie with all the fighting, guns, fire, and jumping i thought that if they took out of that then the movie would be like ten to five minutes long. Another theme i thought was a possibility was mystery. Mystery because they go on hunts for treasure…

In Year Of Wonders, Brooks utilises the most pious figure, Michael Mompellion to illustrate how ones faith dissipates in times of crisis. Mompellion goes from being a leader to the plague stricken community, to a man who was eventually torn down by the ruthless power of crisis and had “given himself up to the darkness.” Indeed, it is seen that religion brings no comfort to Mompellion anymore as he deems God a “poor listener”, and it is the very fact that he clung so strongly to his religious beliefs that lead to this demise. After all these “darkest days” his God did not save him and it is clearly shown that the faith he once had was gone. “His hand is on the bible, but he never opens it.…

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark was a very action-packed movie with the main character really not accomplishing his goal. The whole theme and the whole central idea of the film was that sometimes in life things are just meant to not be disturbed to be in your life. Indiana wanted that ark, he tried and risked his life to do as much as he could to get that ark. Only thing was that he was fighting against another archaeologist who also wanted it. With all the problems that it caused, none of them got to keep the ark, because it wasn’t meant to be kept. Way too many problems occur if you do attempt, which is what the movie demonstrated.…

In Richard Matheson’s novel, I Am Legend, Robert Neville is portrayed as, and believes that he is, a hero. As what may be the last known, non-infected human left on the planet, Robert Neville does what he thinks needs to happen; he single-handedly kills Vampire-Zombies one by one in order to stay alive and to hopefully find other survivors. Although these actions may seem heroic; in the end, Robert Neville realized he had become the ultimate plague in the eyes of the rest of the remaining world (i.e. the living infected Vampire-Zombies). Matheson wants readers to know, even if you are acting in such a way you consider morally right, it may not agree with the rest of society’s morals. For the duration of the novel, readers become sympathetic for Neville and understand his actions for a person in such a dire situation.…

Indiana Jones is most like the epic hero Odysseus of The Odyssey. The four epic heroes we have studied in class are completely different in the way that they go about their journeys and trials. Though, despite these drastic differences, all share at least one character trait with Indiana Jones, whether it be a search for balance between good and evil, a drive to finish what has been started, a more human nature, or meeting opposition along the way. However, it is Odysseus that most closely resembles Jones in both character and motivation.…
