The modern world affected the Indigenous people I read about by either forcing them into their religions or fighting over their religious ways. Indigenous historicity—what people take to be salient in their pasts—is intricately and inextricably bound to the landscape, which is itself a sacred and cosmic phenomenon embodying everything by which people identify as us and other. Shamans travel the routes of landscape and mythopoetic history. In 19421 Roman Chatholic Christianity causing the people to change there beliefs. It clearly state in this article that they were force to change by the government:
Of course indigenous religions are practiced today. They have changed over time because everything has to change to thrive and attract attention of its people. Indigenous people have affected the modern world today to such as the Mayans predictions of the world ending and when the world was suppose to end in 2000. We have affected them with our growing society because most indigenous religions believe in the earth and what you take you give back. As a modern world today we do not see the world this way.
