Individual and Character Value Lens
The word honesty comes from the Latin word honestus, honos, both modifications of the ancient Latin word honor (honour), hence the original meaning “of persons holding an honorable position, respectable.” In simplest terms, the original meaning of honesty was the by-product of respectability and trust associated with a person holding an honorable position- therefore a bishop would be (in the original meaning of the word) assumed to be more honest than a street cleaner.

Create a succinct summary of your selected Character Value Lens or theory by providing the following integrated components: 1. The historical origin of the character value lens 7. A list of research sources you used that includes a minimum of: a. four scholarly web sources (Wikipedia does not count as a scholarly web source. It is a good place to find references to other scholarly sites, but it is not a source to be used for scholarly information). b. one peer reviewed full-text article (Check the Concordia library for information about how to find peer reviewed articles).
