Introduction
Dang Le Nguyen Vu is a famous entrepreneur in Viet Nam. He founded Trung Nguyen Coffee brand in 1996 when he was 25 years old. He, as a president and a CEO of Trung Nguyen Coffee Corporation, lead Trung Nguyen Coffee to be widely known in both domestic market and other countries. In 2005, Trung Nguyen Coffee became the biggest coffee processor in Viet Nam, even overcome foreign competitors. As of 2010, Trung Nguyen Coffee products were exported to over 60 countries in the world, such as America, Canada, Russia, England, Germany, Japan, China and the Asean. In 2012, Dang Le Nguyen Vu was called “King of coffee Viet Nam” by charisma magazines of America such as National Geographic Traveller and Forbes. This assignment is the result of understanding Dang Le Nguyen Vu. He is a top-level manager. As a president and CEO, he is empowered to make decisions affecting the present and future of the firm. I think he has most of managerial roles. Henry Mintzberg listed 17 roles of a manager:
Planning: Strategic Planner; Operational Planner
Organizing and Staffing: Organizer; Liaison; Staffing Coordinator; Resource Allocator; Task Delegator
Leading: Figurehead; Spokesperson; Negotiator; Motivator and Coach; Team Builder; Team Player; Technical Problem Solver; Entrepreneur
Controlling: Monitor; Disturbance Handler
However, in this assignment, I only talk about his roles in bringing Trung Nguyen Coffee become the Viet Nam top coffee brand. In this stage, the role of Dang Le Nguyen Vu is very important and irreplaceable. It is not all of 17 roles he had, but only need some of them, he led Trung Nguyen Coffee company reach a lot
