4.0 Result
This chapter is a summary of the findings obtained during the field investigations on the assessment of the prevalence and determinants of overweight and obesity in the west Gonja district capital . The survey was conducted among females within the age range of 15-45 years. In all 270 respondents who were interviewed; 88 of the respondents were in the age category of 15-20 years, 60 of the respondents were within 21-25 years and 49 respondents were in the category of 26-30 years. In the age category of 31-35 years, 25 females were interviewed whilst 31 and 17 respondents were interviewed in the age categories of 36-40 and 41-45 years respectively.

LEVEL OF EDUCATION OF RESPNDENTS
On level of education, 15.6% of respondents had no education, 42.6% have basic education and 33% have secondary education whilst 8.9% of the respondents have attained tertiary education.

RELIGIOUS STATUS
On the aspect of religious affiliation, respondents were practicing the two main religions namely Christianity and Islam with 42.6% of respondents being Christians and 57.4% of the respondents being Muslims.
