Between 1800 and 1870, Textiles were the most important industries in the industrial revolution as they witnessed rapid transitions and changes in the manufacturing process. The industry witnessed a transition from hand production methods to embracing machines and machine tools that saw to the rise of the factory system. The textile industry stood out from the rest in the industrial revolution during the period as it was the leading in terms of value output, creation of employment and the leading in terms of capital invested. It also stood out as the first industry to use modern production methods.
