In the first article, different people have come to Florida to find ship wrecks. The people have mostly found Spanish ship wrecks because the Spanish used to inhabit Florida. One person named Mel Fisher, didn't like idea of using a machine that would suck up all the sand on the bottom of the ocean, to find the shipwrecks. Instead, Mel Fisher would use a machine called the mailbox system. This would, instead of sucking up all the sand, would blow away the sand using the boat's engine. This worked more effectivly because Mel Fisher would find more shipwrecks and gold artifacts.

one of the most effective machines, but when using this machine, you would have to go around on a boat and if you think you found something or saw something, you would have to get off the boat and go all the way down to the ocean to see if the shipwreck isn't actually there. If not, then you will have to keep looking. With the satellite, if you think you have something, but you don't, you have a whole bunch of other areas that you can go to. This makes it so that even though you didn't find anything there, you have more areas that you can go to and you don't have to be constantly searching.
In the second article, during World War 2, there were air force pilots that didn't believe Joe Duckworth that his plane would survive going into a huricane. Then, he went into the sky, with his plane and survived going into the huricane. "These flights are considered to be the first airborne attempts to collect data on the movement of a tropical cyclone before it hit land." (Article 2, Paragraph 4). People will now go into the sky with a huricane and fly around it to observe its movements. The Hurricane Hunters fly through three parts of the hurrcanes, the eye, the eyewall, and spiral rain bands. The Hurricane Hunters use dropsonde, that fall into the ocean and transmit data about hurricanes nearby.
Some people could say that this is the best technology used in these three articles because without them we wouldn't know more about hurricanes, but we don't need to know everything about hurricanes.
What we do need to know about is the ancient things that the Egyptologists are finding out in Egypt about cities and roads and tombs because if we don't, we won't know basic things about life back then. These people are learning about how Egyptians would build their cities. "Because the bricks retain water, they are denser than the surrounding ground. Infared satellite imagery detects these differences in density, revealing buried roads, tombs, and cities." ( Article 3, Paragraph 2). People could also say, that the dropsonde is the most advanced because it can teel so many things about
hurricanes.
In conclusion, I think that the most advanced device that people have used today is the Infared satellite. This satellite picks up different areas in the ground that are denser than others, to find ancient cities, tombs, or roads. Using this satellite, has made it so much faster to find things hidden underground.
