1.0 Introduction
Information technology (IT) is the using of computer in collecting, storing and spreading data in the business.
Is the technology that helps companies change business by allowing them to use new method. (Understanding business Nickels &Hugh 7thedition 520)
Service industries are industries which deal in supply if intangible product such as transport industry, school, and health care center.
Competitive Advantage Is an advantage that a firm has over its competitors, allowing it to generate greater sales or margins and/or retains more customers than its competition. (www.onvestopedia.com). example in service industry National Microfinance Bank (NMB) have many branches it Tanzania in almost every District which give the bank more customers compared to other bank.
2. Literature review
2.1 Adoption of Technological (IT) in Tanzania service Industries
Technological adoption / the use of information from other countries “developed counties” started early in 1960s to 1970s but in Tanzania the use of Information Technology came late The first computer in Tanzania wasinstalled in the Ministry of Finance in 1965. By 1974 there were seven computers in the country and the Ministry of Finance had already acquired a new computer.
But this adoption of technology in Tanzania face some early problems which were * Lack of Qualified Indigenous Personnel Installations were totally dependent on foreign experts. In some cases these experts were not adequatelyqualified or experienced. Applications tended not to be properly documented and thus could run

    The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is considered the most influential and commonly employed theory for describing an individual’s acceptance of information systems. During the past 23 years, the information systems community has considered TAM a parsimonious and powerful theory (Venkatesh and Davis, 2000). Further supporting the notion of TAM’s popularity, Venkatesh and Bala [2008] found that the first two TAM articles, by Davis [1989] and Davis et al. [1989] received 424 journal citations in the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) by the beginning of 2000 and 698 journal citations by 2003.     Abstract User acceptance of technology has been an important field of study for over two decades now. Although many models have been proposed to explain and predict the use of a system, the Technology Acceptance Model has been the only one which has captured the most attention of the Information Systems community. Thus, it is essential for anyone willing to study user acceptance of technology to have an understanding of the Technology Acceptance Model. This paper provides a historical overview of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by summarizing the evolution of TAM, its key applications, extensions, limitations, and criticisms from a selective list of published articles on the model. Current observations indicate that although TAM is a highly cited model, researchers share mixed opinions regarding its theoretical assumptions, and practical effectiveness. It is concluded that research in TAM lacks sufficient rigor and relevance that would make it a well established theory for the IS community.
