How are you getting on? I haven't written to you for a few months because I have been preparing for an inter-school competition. The competition is now over and I can tell you a piece of good news - My school has just won the inter-school girls' and boys' basketball championships.
As I told you in my last letter, I had practised with my team every day after school for a year. The match was very important to us because we had always been the first runner-up for the past three years. St. Andrew's
College always beats us by 1 point.
This year, we met again. We told ourselves that we couldn't lose this time. We knew the opponents were very skilful at playing basketball.
During the match, everyone tried hard to score. We were under great pressure as our opponent scored first. However, our teacher encouraged us.
We took a deep breath and concentrated again. In the end, our concentration paid off and we won! Our victory was due to the cooperation of every member. I learned the power of team spirit through our victory.
After that, I felt extremely tired but as you can see from the photos I have enclosed, all of us had triumphant smiles on our faces.
Our principal was so happy that he offered us a mini-buffet at the school canteen. I hope you can share in my happiness. Write and tell me what you have done these few months.
Yours,
Chris

A few hours later when I went to the hospital, I discovered that I had torn my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL). Initially, I did not know what to expect from the situation, but I came to realize how much it would affect my life. The ACL functions as a ligament that connects the tibia and the femur. It provides stability in the knee, and with this injury, I could not participate in competitive soccer for 10 months. To undergo this painful experience at such a young age is extremely difficult; however, I chose to embrace the situation rather than let it destroy me. I could no longer play the sport I loved, but I could not change anything about that; I could only control my attitude in this predicament. I went above and beyond at every physical therapy appointment, no matter how strenuous/painful the workouts were. Times frequently came…
