The assessments that I administered to the student began during my second week of practicum at the Francis Lore Elementary School, and were completed over the course of four weeks. There were a total of five assessments that tested my case study participant’s reading and writing skills. The Informal Reading Inventory, which had my student read multiple grade level passages and word lists, allowed me to measure their reading and comprehension level. The Elementary Spelling Inventory, aided me in assessing the students essential skills of phonics, which will indicate what aspects of writing will need to be approached come time for me to make recommendations and a plan for intervention.
