The Alaskan Husky is mainly bred as a working dog and is a superior sledge dog to the Siberian Husky. It is an intelligent dog which is social and energetic. They only respond to leadership and if they do not see the point they will not obey. These playful dogs make excellent pets but are not great watch dogs and they hate being lonely. Loneliness often leads to destructive behaviour.
