In 2009, the Kentucky Horse Park introduced a multi-purpose arena that would accompany 5,517 people. (5,290 general stadium seats and 222 VIP box seats) The Alltech Arena comprises a 135’ x 300’ enclosed ring surrounded by a concrete wall and a sand/loam flooring suitable for a circus, concert, basketball and wrestling events that accommodates seating for 5,517. If you want to watch in style, you can rent a VIP suites that comes fully furnished with a wet bar, glass fronts and private entrances. Annually there are many events held in the Alltech Arena from the Antique and Garden Show to the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show. Held in the arena are horse shows, dog breed shows, polo matches, rodeos and team-penning events that are booked nearly every weekend of the year. The Premier Classic Saddlebred Show
This event is a must see. The show offers a relaxing atmosphere while enjoying a first class horse show. Hosted by the Kentucky Spring Premier Horse Show the Classic Saddlebred Show is for all ages.
Cowboy Up for a Cure Rodeo
This wonderful event provides funding to benefit children who are battling pediatric cancer. Hosted by CUFAC (Cowboy Up For A Cure) ‘Cowboy Up For a Cure Rodeo’ is a fundraiser dedicated for these unfortunate children. Monies raised at the event benefit the UK PAWS Program --a program created to be the educational liaison between the school, the family and the medical team—on behalf of the patients.
The Bluegrass Classic Dog Show
Sponsored by the Lexington Kentucky Kennel Club, the Northern Kentucky Kennel Club, and the Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club the Bluegrass Classic Dog Show is a five-day dog show that is presented annually for over 150 breeds to compete in.
The categories include “best-in-show,” “junior showmanship classes”, “obedience” and “rally”. Also, there is a Meet the Breeds event, Canine Good Citizen Test and AKC Owner-Handler Series.
Road To The Horse
This event is one that is filled with excitement and anticipation. Sitting on the edge of your seat you will watch as feisty, untrained three- year-old colts are worked with by their handlers to build a trusting bond with their mount before your eyes. The winner will walk away with the World Championship of Colt Starting title.
Blue Grass Gala Preview Party
The Blue Grass Gala Party is anxiously awaited by those who are interested in art, gardening, and antiques. This gala is a preview of the Blue Grass Trust Antiques & Garden Show where more then 80 exhibitors present their prized goods for the public to
observe.
Offered for purchase or just to admire are designer vignettes, beautiful flowers and gorgeous gardens, vintage silver and stunning jewelry.
Proceeds from the party benefit the Blue Grass Trust for Historic Preservation—the leading preservation advocate in central Kentucky.
