Today I will be discussing a brain disorder that many people don’t fully understand.
The disorder I decided to discuss was, Migraines. Many people classify their headaches as
migraines, but don’t really understand the causes, symptoms, or the definition to really
diagnose their headaches as this. I wanted to first provide the definition of a migraine, which is
“A medical condition that causes intermittent attacks of headaches, and is associated with
nausea and/or vomiting and sensitivity to light, sound, or smells.” Migraines specifically
are thought to be known as a “bad headache”, but it actually just a symptom of a Migraine.

The symptoms will include elevated mood, depressed
mood, irritability, fatigue, and food intolerances. One question many people ask is,
“At what age can you start having migraines?” Surprisingly, children and adolescents tend to
be diagnosed with migraines. Migraines attacks tend to appear to be different in children,
and are infrequent and have a shorter duration. Children usually have abdominal symptoms,
which is known as, abdominal migraine, which adults do not experience. The typical symptom
of an abdominal migraine is a headache, which is located in the forehead or middle of the
head, rather than the side. Adolescents can also develop migraines, and can be as important
as a child or adult with migraines. Migraines are diagnosed and aggressively treated during
puberty, which is when migraines are usually present. A population studied had shown that
