Informative Speech On Kurt Cobain
Cobain has been remembered as one of the most iconic rock musicians in the history of alternative music. In 2003, David Fricke of Rolling Stone ranked him the 12th greatest guitarist of all time.[51] He was later ranked the 73rd greatest guitarist and 45th greatest singer of all time by the same magazine,[52][53] and by MTV as seventh in the "22 Greatest Voices in Music".[54] In 2006, he was placed at number twenty by Hit Parader on their list of the "100 Greatest Metal Singers of All Time".[55]

Reflecting on Cobain's death over 10 years later, MSNBC's Eric Olsen wrote:

“ In the intervening decade, Cobain, a small, frail but handsome man in life, has become an abstract Generation X icon, viewed by many as the "last real rock star" [..] a

The sign was paid for and created by the Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee, a non-profit organization created in May 2004 to honor Cobain. The Committee planned to create a Kurt Cobain Memorial Park and a youth center in Aberdeen. Because Cobain was cremated and his remains scattered into the Wishkah River in Washington,[57] many Nirvana fans visit Viretta Park, near Cobain's former Lake Washington home, to pay tribute. On the anniversary of his death, fans gather in the park to celebrate his life and …show more content…
The book fills 280 pages with a simple black cover; the pages are arranged somewhat chronologically (although Cobain generally did not date them). The journal pages are reproduced in color, and there is a section added at the back with explanations and transcripts of some of the less legible pages. The writings begin in the late 1980s and were continued until his death. A paperback version of the book, released in 2003, included a handful of writings that were not offered in the initial release. In the journals, Cobain talked about the ups and downs of life on the road, made lists of what music he was enjoying, and often scribbled down lyric ideas for future reference. Upon its release, reviewers and fans were conflicted about the collection. Many were elated to be able to learn more about Cobain and read his inner thoughts in his own words, but were disturbed by what was viewed as an invasion of his

Pat Tillman was a heroic face of the war on terror - an NFL star who left behind a $3.6 million contract and his new wife to fight for his country after the attacks of Sept. 11. When he died in Afghanistan on April 22, 2004, the Army told his family he'd been killed by enemy fire after courageously charging up a hill to protect his fellow Army Rangers. Tillman's family was led to believe that he was killed by the enemy, which was reinforced when the Army awarded him a Silver Star for his "gallantry in action against an armed enemy." They were told his convoy had been ambushed and he had charged up a hill, forcing the enemy to withdraw and saving the lives of his fellow Rangers.…

After playing with the band for a few years he decided to leave them and shortly after he did he had an opportunity to audition for another band called “Nirvana” in Seattle. He was hired to play the drums which he did until the band fell apart after the lead singer “Kurt Cobbain” committed suicide at his home in Seattle, Washington. Though he had great success with the band “Nirvana” he found even greater success when he started another band or “Foo Fighters”. Foo Fighters had several hits over the years and much success. One of my favorite songs or the earliest song I recall hearing by them was “Everlong” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBG7P-K-r1Y) . The music video “Everlong” was nominated for best Rock Video at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. The first time I heard the song was with a childhood friend or “Chris” who played the song on his mother’s stereo while I was visiting his younger brother and it just clicked. We shared a similar sense of music or style of music so this as well as many other songs favored were similar in nature. I’m planning on going to a Foo Fighters concert next time they are perform locally, I think they will continue to play and release albums just like the Rolling Stones and…

Lately there have been a lot of break-ins and armed robberies in Jimboomba by ‘teenagers’. They’ve been demanding money from store clerks, some with knifes, baseball bats, and anything in between. To be honest I do not find the joy in doing such a thing, I believe that if you work hard enough to earn a living you will feel as if you have done well in this life and honestly I wouldn’t feel good knowing I have someone else’s hard earned money all to myself. I know that some of the crimes committed aren’t so bad, but the teens should be punished to learn from their mistakes, I believe that by doing so it will cause the community to feel safer and engage the government to make Jimboomba a better place to live.…

Osama Bin Laden is a monster. He killed many of innocent people on the day of September 11, 2001. Many of people from our country hated him, but in his country the kids looked up to him as well as the army he raised. I’m glad we don’t have to deal with him, thanks to Seal Team 6. Little did we know his legacy would lead on to many more terrorist attacks.…

In most families children look for guidance parents, in the memoir The Glass Castle written by Jeannette Walls, the opposite seems to hold true. Jeannette and her siblings were given virtually no rules to follow, or standards to be held to. They were often dirty, hungry, and left to fend for themselves by their self proclaimed “excitement addict” parents. Luckily Walls was able to turn potential tragedy to triumph by using her common sense when it mattered the most. Usually characters develop during the duration of a book, but Walls remains the same throughout.…

It all began with Trayvon Martin, a young black man who was shot and killed by officer George Zimmerman. Trayvon was a 17-year-old student who lived in Miami Gardens, Florida. He was fatally shot by Zimmerman back in 2012 and according to CNN, the U.S. Justice Department declared that federal civil charges were not brought against the crimes of George Zimmerman. This being said Black Lives Matter is often misinterpreted by others as a terrorist group that believes that black lives are far more important than any other racial group. The black lives movement is to raise awareness for the equality of the lives of these visible minorities. “Police killed at least 346 black people in the U.S. in 2015” (Mapping Police Violence). This clearly demonstrates how privileged white police officers use their authority to kill defenceless and harmless African Americans. Why should members of the black community have to walk down the streets in fear? Why should members of the black community have to protest for equality in 2016? Why should members of the black community be labelled as “violent” and shot even when unarmed? Modern society has…

Kurt Cobain was the lead singer of the Seattle based grunge rock band Nirvana. As Nirvana's lead songwriter, guitarist, and singer, Cobain took the music industry by surprise and is considered the godfather of the grunge rock movement. Cobain and his band had a prevalent influence on young teenagers of the 1990s and were considered idols by numerous individuals. Nirvana took the popular music industry by storm when they were able to revamp the genre of grunge rock and cause a dramatic shift in music, away from the dominant genres of the 1980s. The success of Kurt Cobain was overshadowed by numerous of his psychological problems including drug addiction, his unstable marriage to music celebrity Courtney Love, and constant pressure from the American media. Cobain committed suicide on April 8th 1994, where he was found dead in his home from a self inflicted shotgun wound to his head. What were the psychological problems that existed in Cobain's life and how did they affect his behavior and overall outcome that led to his demise as a celebrity? How can certain theories and aspects of personality be linked to Curt Cobain's intrapersonal and interpersonal conflicts that existed in his unique relationships with his family as a child and later his wife and family?…
