Retinoblastoma The reason why I chose this cancerous disease is because i had cancer my self when I was a little kid. I feel like I have so much in common with others who have any type of cancer. I know that so many people die from cancers like this and have no way to cure or to help it. So many family and friends go through hard troubles when trying to support their loved one, I know cause of course I’ve been through this.
I know that Retinoblastoma is a rare eye cancer that occurs in children. Although rare, retinoblastoma is the most common malignant intraocular tumor in children. It usually begins to develop inside the womb.

What are the symptoms?
What is the common gender for this disease?
How old are most people when diagnosed?

How many stages does this cancer have?
How many test trial have been done?
How many people have been in remission?
My Research According to doctors and scientist they are studying new types of treatment methods, including subtenon chemotherapy and high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplant ("Retinoblastoma Research"). Although current treatments have been proven successful for about 90 % of all children with this disease, newer better faster treatment techniques are constantly being tested through clinical trials ("Retinoblastoma"). Improvements in chemotherapy is an important area of retinoblastoma, even though anti-cancer drugs have proven effective, new drugs and combinations of drugs are persistently being developed, so their impact on retinoblastoma also needs to be tested ("Retinoblastoma").
From my research on this topic, I learned that cancer that I studied before this type is very similar to other cancerous disease. With the help of this research I am going to college to study in the field of medicine. The main thing in this research that caught my eye was that retinoblastoma isn’t a passed down trait unlike some of the other cancers I’ve studied in the past. What this really did to me was encourage me to find cures in this world to help get rid and stop cancer.
