Informative Speech On Third Party Administrators
The “Informative” speech went well, I was far less nervous giving this speech than the prior one, I feel it was because I am comfortable discussing Third Party Administrators. Nevertheless, prior to the presentation I felt good; I presented second in the class. During the presentation I felt I felt rushed. There was a lot of information to present in a short amount of time, besides I gave a similar speech yesterday that was an hour in a half and I have one on Thursday that is the same, so practicing similar speeches so close together with such an enormous time difference was difficult. I presented for an hour in a half yesterday and not one “um” I came home to practice and what was one of the first things out of my mouth when practicing

    Lima Bean Lab Report

The purpose of this lab was to explore the growth and developmental differences in different liquids when exposed to a lima bean over the course of 10 days. by looking at the results it is evidence that the pond water is the greatest factor of liquids compared to milk and sprite. My hypothesis of pond water being the best liquid to grow a lima bean plant was correct the lima bean had grown to 13 centimeters but while doing this experiment I was surprised with the results of milk hoping it to be better and hoping for more growth due to its nutrient content before completing this lab I had the impression that milk would be the second most growth in the plants due to it protein and nutrient content. But I believe that these results were not…

I started off my presentation by introducing myself to the class. When introducing myself I informed the class of my name, job title, workplace, the type of students that I teach and what I teach. I do this to give a clear outline of who I am and my job role. During my presentation I tried not to speak too fast, tried to make eye contact with the whole group and ensured that I didn’t remain static.…

When I watched my presentation, I saw how I started with a strong introduction with a rhetorical question. I by saying “Who would you call? What would you do? How would you handle the situation? All these questions may be hard for you to answer in your crisis. I got the answer to clean up the mess you got yourself into.” Also, I give the audience a vision by saying “Let’s say your life is being broadcast all over the media or maybe even your company. We all know One of your biggest fears would be getting caught in a scandal or having a bad rep.” You got all part of my introduction to the greeting, thesis, credibility, and overview. I also, had the personality to my speech when talking you could see how enthusiastic I was to the audience. This made my speech be interesting and not dull and my voice a great projectile for everyone in the class to hear. In my speech, I had great eye contact so I had the attention, keen interest, and understanding for my classmates. None verbal communication is “Behaviors, symbols, attributes, or objects—whether intended or not—that communicate messages with social meaning.” In my body of my speech, I provided information in chronically order as my overview. I give great information about the education requirements, job outlook, and Pros and…

The first thing that I noticed in my introduction is that I need a better attention grabber. It was good, but there is definitely a better way to get the audience’s attention. The biggest thing in my speech that I noticed the most was the eye contact. I tend to look down at my notecards a lot. I review my speech over and over again before I give it, and almost memorize it, but it is my worst fear to speak in front of people so that is why I look down at my cards so much. Also, I have my cards too close to my face. The second thing that caught my attention while watching myself was that I need to have more gestures with my hands. Having a little bit more mobility with my hands will put more emphasis on the things that I am trying to say to the audience. The power point that I made was simple, but I feel like it got the points across and corresponded with my speech. I thought my tone throughout the speech was good. I feel like my tone of voice is very personable with the audience and not too soft or loud. Another thing that I thought I did well was pausing. I let my information sink in with the audience with a pause. I tend to use a lot of head movement when I’m speaking, and it is distracting to the audience. I used some humor in my speech by giving funny pictures and saying some things in my speech that made the audience laugh. I gave some time to let the humor set in with a pause and then proceeded to go on with my speech, so I thought that I used humor in my speech pretty well. My speech needs to be more conversational. When I watched myself speak, it seemed like I was reading it a little bit. With a more conversational way of speaking, you can attach yourself to the audience rather than reading your speech. Saying that, when I was speaking I was standing with good posture and speaking with a good tone. Even though I may have not been speaking conversationally, I think that my posture made up for it a…

Attention- getter: What would you do if somebody came into this classroom and pointed a gun at you as if they were going to kill you for no reason? First thing that would come to mind is, “Am I really going to die right now” and “Why is a person on campus with a gun trying to kill people?” Sad part is, an event like this has happened many times in the past. For instance, the Sandy Hook Elementary School mass shooting as well as the Colorado movie theatre shooting that all took place within the past year[example]. These mass shootings have brought up the issue of controlling who is able to purchase guns and if it is safe and necessary to roam around in public armed with a weapon.…

This was the easiest speech, considering that all I had to do was rant about the story I was telling. For this speech, I didn’t feel that nervous because it was something that I remember vividly and nothing could go wrong with it. Moving on to the next speech, which was the informative speech, I felt nervousness once again. The fact that we had to research everything well and make sure the sources were cited correctly, then try memorizing what we would say for 6 minutes, and aside from that remember to do the speaker’s triangle, I got anxious. Fortunately, I did not do horrible, which is what I was expecting. Continuing to the next speech, we had our persuasive speech. This speech at first seemed easy because it was similar to the informative speech in many ways. The only difference was the time limit and the PowerPoint we had to make. For this speech I was well prepared and I felt great about it, I thought it was going to be the best speech. I had high hopes, but not everything goes as planned because as soon as my speech started and I was about to change the slide, I was unable to use the clicker. I got embarrassed and did not want to continue, but I knew I had to. I pushed along through the speech until I finished it. Although it wasn’t the best speech, I had to learn that not everything will flow the way you want things to, and instead you need to move…

I do not exercise because I do not want to sweat my hair out! My hair is easier to maintain and work when it is relaxed. I just can’t get enough of that creepy crack. These are some things African American women with relaxed hair have said at one point or another. Whether going natural or choosing to continue to use relaxers is a big decision. For those that have been relying upon relaxers for some time, going natural doesn’t have to be as scary as it seems. There are several ways to go natural and still have healthy hair, determining what your hair needs in terms of products and nutrients. Deciding to take the long road of the big chop or deciding to take the short road to transitioning where you gradually clip your ends every few months are factors that people find daunting when complex plating on an embark to a natural hair journey. Going natural or using relaxers has been a big debate in our communities over the last few years. Going natural has essential become a movement that some feel is here to stay while others feel as if it is just a phase. I can assure you that going natural is not as scary as it seem. By looking at my hair would you know that I was natural if I didn't tell you I was? Well I am and have been for two years now and I love it. I will not go back to a relaxer there is so much more for me to do with my hair now that I am natural than it would be if I had relaxed hair. If you choose to go natural you must first determine the nutrients and products your hair needs, because every person hair texture is different and what it might take for one’s head it might not take all that for the other. Discover your hair type; I have two different hair types which is 3c on top and 3b at the back. Your hair needs lots and lots of love and nutrients. | |The chief argument against imperialism in E. M. Forster’s A Passage to India is that it prevents personal relationships. The central question of the novel is posed at the very beginning when Mahmoud Ali and Hamidullah ask each other “whether or not it is possible to be friends with an Englishman”.[1] The answer, given by Forster himself on the last page, is “No, no yet … No, not there” (p. 322). Such friendship is made impossible, on a political level, by the existence of the British Raj.…
