The teacher training cycle has 6 headings which will be identified below and expanded upon. An example of the roles, responsibilities and boundaries that need to be considered by teachers will be incorporated into each title. The roles, responsibilities, and boundaries may reoccur in the different phases but to show diversity for this assignment it is intended to use a different example in each. Identifying Needs The role of the teacher for this sub section is to find out what needs to be taught. The teacher is responsible in ensuring this happens before the course development starts. The teachers boundary for this initial phase is to ensure that they do not go beyond the needs requirement and they understand what the student is capable of. Planning The teachers role includes the creation of a teaching plan and to prepare a scheme of work that can be delivered to the group. The plan is to be based upon the needs identified in the previous stage. The responsibility of the teacher is to ensure that a Course Training Package (CTP) is planned correctly this will ensure that there is a set standard which can be used to maintain consistency when teaching more than one course. The boundaries for the planning round are likely to include financial, time and location restrictions. Designing The role of a teacher in course design is to work within the boundaries from the previous stage to produce the training for course delivery. At this stage the teacher is responsible for the preparation and obtaining suitable resources to aid the teacher in course delivery. The boundaries will include understanding the limits of the teacher, health and safety regulations must be taken into account for both the students and the teachers. Facilitating The teachers role is to deliver the training in a safe environment once the design stage has been complete. Other roles will include acting as a mentor and imparting their knowledge on to students. They are responsible for encouraging…
