Types of Violence
There are different types of violence that can occur at any time in the correction facilities. The number one daily problem is inmate-inmate violence. Per the book; officers pay contribute to the violence in jails. When there is overcrowding, there is not enough correction officers to look over all the prisoners. This causes officers to not be able to attend to every situation that they need to attend to. Assaults are more likely to happen because there is not enough supervision, so offenders believe they can get away with stuff easier.
