Perhaps the person that these thoughts fight to dominate in has experienced depression before, as said with “That this blood on my teeth it is far beyond dry, and I've captured you once but I wasn't quite right; so I'm telling you, that you'll be safe with me” (first stanza). Sometimes, the darker thoughts can almost seem inviting, but once the rabbit has trusted the wolf, the scars will forever stay, or worse, it cannot be back to life. “Rabbit my claws are dull now, so don't be afraid; I could keep you warm, as long as you can just try to be brave; Yes I know I'm a wolf, and I've been known to bite; But the rest of my pack, I have left them behind; And my teeth may be sharp, and I've been raised to kill; But the thought of fresh meat it is making me ill; So I'm telling you, that you'll be safe with me.”(second stanza) talks more about the voices trying to merge, to become a better being. The problem is, the voices contrast each other so much, that it would be highly improbable for a positive outcome, and a lot more plausible for the “rabbit” to be hurt again. The first time through, it does sound very soothing and…

August Wilson once said, “Confront the dark parts of yourself. Your willingness to to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing.”. The character Amir and the situations he's gone through throughout this book, definitely represent this quote. He has many demons that he have been haunting him through his life and in the end of the book he defeats them and his angels really do sing.…
I thought that Silent Ears, Silent Heart was an excellent book. It really gave you a full prospective of what a family and a person has to go through living a life without being able to hear sound it also helps you realize what someone has to go through that can’t hear what is going on around them. The book starts off with a couple named the Clines there’s Mr. Cline who is Jack who runs his own multimillion dollar business in a glass production. His dream is to have his son at his side and follow in his footsteps and run the family business someday. Then there’s Mrs. Cline who is Margret who is a stay at home wife that is waiting the arrival of their child.…
While enrolled as a student in the CRC, there was a performance being given in which the entire school was to attend, but as his friend and spokesman was absent that day, nobody thought to bring Joseph, so he had to sit alone in the classroom throughout the performance. Throughout the performance, Joseph is left with only his thoughts to keep him company, a skill in which he is masterful. Joseph’s isolation is grounded not in the notion that nobody interacts with him, as that is clearly not the case, but rather in the lack of control of his own body. Joseph has an unable body, but a mind that works as beautifully as any other human being with which he comes into contact. His very dependency on others’ and their willingness to provide him with normal childhood experiences and overlook his unable body is also what fuels his feeling of…
Campbell speaks of an inner Christ in all people. It is not a connection to God, but a oneness with him; meaning that you become a part of God. He explains it as the difference of an individual life, meaning the life of the person, and the all encompassing life, meaning the life that turns the world and all other things. He tells of finding it through meditation, finding that center of yourself that can feel a connection to the life around you and the realization that all things are connected and caused by one another. Campbell interprets the things he was taught as a child, about the angel and the demon on either side of him, as the urges that push our decisions in one direction or the other. These energies, he says, come from the different organs of the body. Each needs something different, and the urges that arise are about what is needed most.…

As we are all unique, hearing voices can be equally individual; some voice can be positive providing support and encouragement someone needs to get through the day. Other voices can be confusing, perhaps echoing thoughts or repeating strange phrases, some voice can be very frightening, saying things that are critical, threatening or commanding. Voices can claim to have great power and knowledge, which can sometimes leave the voice hearer feeling scared and powerless as the voice are often diminishing the voice hearer and may comment on the person in the third person, or make other remarks for example “she is turned the tape on, stupid isn’t she?” or voices can argue each other. In all cases these voices are perceived as being distinct from the individual’s own thoughts. (Graham, 2008)…
Alvin Ailey stated, ‘The greatest works are always personal, and this was personal’ on Revelations. I think Ailey’s work was defiantly personal and was influenced a lot by his youth and childhood. This work could also be influenced by his training, religion and background.…
The Bill of Rights recognizes and protects the citizens of America's’ natural, basic rights. What happens when the rights that the government are supposed to be protecting, begin to be ignored? Fourteen words protect all of our guaranteed rights as citizens of the united states-“...the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” That is why gun control violates the second amendment.…

The psychological state of any human being is extremely complex and may never be fully understood. Two minds may overlap and have some similarities, but for the most part, every person’s mind is different, affected by their society’s discourse and their environment. The movie Paranoid Park, by Gus Van Sant exemplifies the accurate embodiment that real life has to offer. In the movie, the main character Alex must confront real life problems and surpass them. The most compelling part of the film was the idea of being or staying “buoyant;” the desire to maintain composure and overcome distress.…
In the song “Demons” by Imagine Dragons a man sings about a beast inside him. This man is having a hard time as the things that he looks up to betray him and his dreams disappear. The beast inside this man is portrayed as his emotions. The hurt that he feels, and the loneliness he feels can be seen through the words he uses in this song.…
