They become violent the longer they have been on the island, they’re also embarrassed by their actions. “Percival began to whimper with an eyeful of sand and Maurice hurried away. Maurice felt bad because he knew that before the plane crash he would be punished for hurting Percival. Without Parenting, Maurice like the other boys, are becoming less disciplined because there is no one there to right there wrongs.
