A) Russell is a confident man who has no doubt that today he will pull off the perfect bank heist, but Detective Frazier plans otherwise because after all, his a man of the law. Russell is trying to serve bank owner Mr. Case justice, but Mr. Case has hired Mrs. White to keep safe that which he believes is rightfully his. Here in lies the challenge and commencing of negotiations between all four parties who feel that they are all attempting to do the right thing.

While the hostages were giving up their phones Peter bank manager decided that he would lie and tells them that he had left his phone at home. This prompts the two-shot that Lee uses to film Peter and Russell while Russell is discussing with Peter that he knows he is lying and the phone is somewhere in the bank. This shot is effective because at this point in the scene Peter feels that he is on an equal level with Russell and that he has gotten one over on the robbers, but not for long. Russell then goes through all the confiscated phones until he finds one with Peter’s name in it. When he calls the number, Peter’s loud ringtone begins to play in the next room over. This is when we see a tracking shot that is used to film all the anxious and surprised faces of the hostages. The tracking is effective because it puts into perspective how many lives are at risk because Peter thought he was doing the right thing by lying about his phone so he could use it to rescue them later and be a hero. Out of all these people, some might have done the same thing but an equal amount might be saying in their minds that Peter is endangering them and his actions were wrong. After Russell hears the phone, he goes into a room by himself to think. At this point the camera zooms out so all three
