Insight into human behavior

Throughout my years of high school, I found it to be enjoyable. By connecting with new people, deciding who your real friends are, and most importantly growing up. I didn’t know what to expect as a lowerclassmen and whether upperclassmen got along with the lowerclassmen. I didn’t realize that high school was important part of my life until later on. Freshman and sophomore year of high school, I faced challenges such as maintaining a job and studying. Procrastination lead to not completing homework on time and the lack of studying was a concern for me. I should’ve taken my education seriously in high school so I would not struggle my last year applying to colleges without my GPA being a problem. I realized that education was important for my future. With an education it can take me miles further to my career. Freshman year of high school was the initial of my accumulation for my GPA, which became a main factor in graduating and applying for colleges. Coming in my first year was exciting and full of surprises. First, the increase of students reflected from middle school to high school. Everything started off great, my grades were outstanding; however I started to hang out with the wrong crowd. This led to my grades dropping because I would rather hang out with my friends than do homework and study. Freshman year was all fun and games for me. What I truly needed were friends to lead to me in the right directions and make me realize that skipping school and procrastinating was not taking me to the right path.
As the year go on, it’s already my second year of high school. I lost couple of friends but still have the ones that I wasn’t supposed to have and those were the ones that took school as a joke. In the beginning I told myself I wasn’t going to do the same choices I have made my first year. I started off good and then again I slacked off. My parents became worried about me and my future. They have always depended on me because I have a little brother that looks up to me; slowly I started improving.
I walked in school my last two years with a different aspect on my education. I started off by losing my friends, which I felt fine with because they weren’t my true friends to begin with. I became more independent. Before I walked the hallways with a crowd of people and my last years ended up to be just a friend or two. I had to face the teachers that I failed their class before or just never showed up. My teacher once again reminded us that my grades are now one major thing especially my senior year. Applying for colleges was very hard for me because I didn’t have the right GPA to get into a right college. My fear was graduating high school without getting accepted into a college. Working hard each day to get that GPA higher wasn’t easy at all but the people that was there for me through my struggle were my parents. They motivated me every day to do good in school. I didn’t want to let them down.
The month of June arrives and I’m finally graduating. I am graduating high school making my parents proud and an acceptance letter from a college which means I am motivated and determined of being a whole different person in a whole new environment. I regret acting the way I acted my two years of high school but it taught me a big lesson because my education now comes first. Friends come and go some may be a good influence on you and some may be bad but I am proud of what I became throughout this path of my life.
Being in high school for four years has taught me a lot. High school can be fun sometimes like going on field trips, dating, parties, going to prom, senior prank but it is also important for any individual future. Accomplishing my goals has got me where I need to be. Education is the key to success and I am glad that I realized this before it was too late. Students in high school must realize that their chance at a better standard in society begins with the appropriate attitude towards school and those that surround you such as teachers and instructors.
