3.3 There are many agencies that we work with to help with children and young peoples development. When we look at behavioural development, social interactions and speech development all these agencies link together. We use nursery transition days to help the child settle into their new environments and arrange intake visits and meetings with the school for a smoother transition. Social services is used if we have any concerns of a child's well being so then police and a designated social worker would also be involved. The health team are always on hand to help if any families need support with parenting or any development issues. They will then offer parents appropriate courses such as nurturing. At Playgroup we can point in the right direction of any help needed such as our family intervention officers who go into the family homes and will discuss any problems families may have. We run a language and play session which families are invited to where they can enjoy some one to one time with their child to do various activities that will enhance development and build parents confidence too. We have various teachers who can give us support too that work within flying start that can give advice on children's development and help observe children if we feel there are any problems. Also we can offer one to one support to children if they need it as many of us have had relevant training through senco.…

The aim of the essay is to show an understanding of the value of effective multi-agency working in supporting children and families. It is mentioned in the department of education (2012) that multi – agency working is a way of bringing together practioners from different professions to give additional support to children and family who need it. Because children and their family needs can be very different it is ensured that right professionals are involved in the service provided, which might involve people from social work, health, education, early years, youth work, police and youth justice etc. When providing support for the children and their families it is important that practioners have an ability to provide a child centred and a holistic approach to contribute to the best support possible. Holistic approach means considering the physical, emotional, social, psychological and spiritual development and as well looking at it in a wider context. (FdA Early Childhood Studies 2012a)…

1.1) Development is holistic. There are many various areas of development and each area of development is individual in its own right. Even though they are individual, all of the areas of development are interlinked and they do not operate separately. To conduct activities and to partake in everyday occurrences, more than one single area of development is needed and involved in order to participate during these everyday events. It is important that as a childcare practitioner, these areas of development are recognised and understood so the services and activities we provide can be adapted and therefore, made appropriate for the child in order for them to grow and develop the necessary skills to develop to their full potential.…

4.1- The way in which my own working practice can affect children and young person development is by working closely with a child to watch them play, listen observe what they are doing write down what you see. Through careful observation you will begin to know your key child, think about what they like doing and what they don’t like doing. Speak to parents and gain information and advice. Once you have taken photos and observations on a child we will then look at the curriculum EYFS and look where the child ages is and what they are and aren’t doing. If a child is struggling to do something we will make simple next steps which link with the eyfs and we will encourage and support the child and put out appropriate toys and materials to help achieve this. The key worker will work together closely with the child and family to achieve the best from their sessions at nursery. Once we c a child’s next step during our weekly planning we will then plan for our own individual key children and plan what there next step is and spend 15 minutes with your key child to help them and encourage to achieve that next step. We also need to make sure that to develop the skills of children we need to make sure there is a variety of activities and toys indoors and outdoors, if a child becomes bored or starts acting out then this shows we need to challenge the child and the way you as a practitioner communicates with the child we need to make sure we are always reflecting on these as this will promote development for the children.…
