Atticus Finch has used his intelligence throughout the book persistently. Atticus’s character
is charismatic from the opening of the book to the finale. Above all, Atticus Finch is broadly intelligent. Atticus uses intelligence when Bob Ewell’s character is called into question. For instance, Atticus asks a question that at the time made no sense. Atticus asks “Can you read and write?” (Lee 236). Bob Ewell is offended by this stereotypical question. Bob is trying to interpret why this inquiry was requested. He soon comprehends why this question was necessary, but it is too late. Atticus has already outwitted Bob Ewell. Therefore, inconclusive it is determined that Mayella Ewell was beaten by a left handed person. Strangely enough, Bob Ewell was left handed. Atticus Finch is the epitome of an impeccable man. As everyone around him is racist, he chooses to see the good in people before the negative. Of course, Atticus still had antagonists that were prejudiced. Still, Atticus will stick to his promise, no matter what. He is Tom Robinson’s lawyer, and he is going to do his best to defend him. He knows he is not going to win. Even so, Atticus will attempt almost anything to justify that Tom is virtuous. Atticus announces in court “...if you will allow the question, plus another you’ll soon see.”(Lee ^^^^). This represents intelligence because Atticus knows what questions to ask. Atticus believes in equality and justice. He has many people who have his back because he defends Tom and believes in the truth
