Inter-Bau Construction- History
The history of INTER-BAU, Nigeria's foremost indigenous Construction Company, dates back to the early eighties with the establishment of its operational base in the Delta State Capital Asaba. The company was founded in response to the increasing road construction, rehabilitation and maintenance potential in the country following the oil boom and the attendant growth in all sectors of the economy. INTER-BAU is undoubtedly best known through the high quality road...

construction and other related projects executed by the company.

We have grown and developed since those early days and many changes have taken place over the intervening years. Throughout these years of change, our philosophy has remained constant: to build quality and cost effective roads for our esteemed clients and this we believe is the reason of our continued success.

The company's desire to be better equipped to handle various road construction projects spurred it into the commissioning of an Asphalt plant at Asaba in 1992. This was followed by the acquisition of an assemblage of Stone Crushing Plant and allied Quarry Equipment in order to facilitate the availability of granite chippings for use on its construction sites. As the company continued to grow from strength to strength and the road contracts we handle increased astronomically with every passing day, INTER-BAU braced up to the challenge by commissioning another Asphalt plant of 200 tons per hour capacity in 2001 at Asaba, followed by the purchase of another 160 tons per hour Asphalt Plant in 2007.

At INTER-BAU, our major areas of specialisation include Civil/Highway Construction and Engineering Works, Building Engineering Construction, Bridges and allied structures, Flood and Erosion Control Works, Architectural/Structural Design Works and Engineering Consultancy Services. We have proven record of quality service in all these specialisation areas, and we shall continue to respond positively to challenges posed by Nigeria's

At the top of Wenceslas Square next to the majestic National Museum is an unattractive Communist era building. Resembling a giant black glass table that just so happened to sit on another building, this eyesore is anything but pleasing. From 1966-1973 the old building that housed the original Exchange was destroyed to make way for the Communist Parliament, a glass monstrosity with two giant pillars. The building is still complete with nuclear shelters. The demands of the Velvet Revolution were accepted here in 1989 and the building was the of home of Radio Free Europe who rented the location from former president Vaclav Havel for a very small fee per year (rumor has it that the fee was 1 kc). Radio Free Europe has moved to a new location out of the center or Prague and the Old Parliament building is now under the ownership of the National Museum…

In previous years, most Africans who have came to America were slaves who were purchased through the international slave trade. White colonists viewed Africans as uncivilized and ‘turned to the international slave trade to fill their labor needs.’ The white English settlers knew nothing of any other culture; people were thought to be white or Christian, anything else was ‘uncivilized’. Slavery served for two purposes; a labor system and racial control in a white country.…
