Background of the Study A general lack of interest in English is the main barrier to learning the English language for the students. They tend to hesitate using the language because they are not so familiar to it. They should give enough motivation to get interested in English language and to conquer their fear of producing grammatically wrong sentences and the correct usage of words. As Wenden (1985) reminds us, there is an old proverb which states: “Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach him how to fish and he eats for a lifetime”. Applied to the language teaching and learning field, this proverb might be interpreted to mean that if students are provided with answers, the immediate problem is solved. But if they are taught the strategies to work out the answers for themselves, they are empowered to manage their own learning. Teacher factor is important in increasing the interest of the students in the English language. They give motivation to the students for them to acquire English language easily Also, Dr.Sampang (2009) stated that it was important to use standardized material to make learning more interesting and to retain the interest of students in the language. Furthermore, once a teacher is successful in increasing the learner's interest in English, then everything else will follow. Also, exposure to the target language alone will help to acquire it.     We’ve allowed a natural approach to language instruction to dominate our schools, hoping our English learners 
“will just figure it out.” (SCOE, 2009) This approach suggested by Kevin Clark proposes that teachers explicitly teach ELL by giving them a set of skills. Teacher will have to teach students not just vocabulary, but the sound system of language, the words and their word parts and meanings, and also rules for structuring sentences grammatically. Teaching students from this perspective can support a deeper understanding of the language. When the concept is thoroughly supported by background knowledge, explanation as to why, activities that strengthen skills, and consistency in lesson structure that follows this pattern, students are more likely to understand the concept and create a platform from which to launch higher level thinking and conclusions on following concepts and content area. Students learn more efficiently when they have prior knowledge on a presented concept. If the student can link content to a concept that they gained from previous knowledge on from their own unique background or culture, it will inevitably spark interest in that subject area. By sparking interest the teacher is now adding value to the lesson. Since students synonymize interest with value, the teacher would prove effective.     As children learn a second language, Walqui brings out, there are individual, social and societal factors that the teacher should consider (2002). Some of these are linked to the native language of the student. Things that a teacher must take into account include the student’s proficiency in their native tongue.     Second, curriculum and teaching method influence students. In my opinion, most of the teachers prefer to teach grammar over and over again. It makes students feel bored so they lose their motivation to learn. I think that teacher shouldn’t only teach, but also they need to encourage and motivate them to find their own method.
