Intergenerational Speech
I am so excited to invite you all to an intergenerational speech and leadership conference and their free evening program.

As some of you might know, I am a shy introvert. I really don’t talk to people unless I know them well. As Christians, we are called to be ambassadors. We need to be ready and willing “to give an answer for the hope that we have”. The Institute for Cultural Communicators has helped me become more confident in sharing what I believe. Check out https://vimeo.com/iccinc to learn more. The Be Not Typical and Your Ideas Matter videos explain our mission well.

When: September 16-17th. The program is on Friday the 16th at 6:50pm

Where: Bethesda Church 15033 Highway 13 S Prior Lake, Minnesota 553726

After countless hours of research, we believe that Amway is the perfect business for intergenerational therapy. Amway employs multiple different generations of workers ranging from baby boomers to millennials and as a result, there are many differences in values, beliefs, and social norms amongst the different age groups. If these differences aren’t properly communicated they can cause multiple conflicts, and in some cases lead to a hostile work environments. With the inclusion of generation Z (1996-2010) entering the workforce over the next few years, this issue will only continue to grow. However, if we begin working on building an open channel of communication now we can not only prevent future conflicts from arising, but we can also increase…

The Cornerstone Speech was a speech held by the American Vice president of southernmost states of the USA, Alexander Stephens at the Athenaeum in Savannah, Georgia, on March 21, 1861. The speech was delivered on the basis of the USA's desire to put an end to slavery. However, Stephens and the southern states believed that the economy was based on slave labor and therefore an end to slavery be bad for the US economy. The language of the speech is very old-fashioned and difficult to understand because it is from 1861. The speech appeal to the southern citizens, who are like Stephens believes that slavery is good for the American society.…

Throughout the course I delivered speeches on Zombies, Coming of Age Traditions around the World, Leukemia, and Volunteering. Surprisingly, I found it quite easy to relate a majority of these topics to my audience which was satisfying. Audience adaptation was a new concept to me and I never really did it in other speeches, but getting a good understanding of the concept made the transition easy. However, the topic I had the hardest time relating to my audience was the Leukemia speech. It was a topic I wanted to do more research on since my mom was diagnosed, but many of my classmates may not have experienced that making it hard for them to adapt. As a result, I did my best to make the speech as interesting as possible. On the other hand, I…

Senioritis: a common illness that is said to strike high schools across the nation and stand as an excuse for plummeting grades from the senior class. It is believed that seniors become incredibly antsy their last year of high school and are looking into the future for a solution to their bored life. Seniors also begin to question whether the classes they are taking are meaningful or not, while sloughing off the tension that comes with high school because they have been there four years and know the ropes. Not all seniors are sucked into this mindset, and many continue to further their academic success throughout their senior year. “Senioritis” brings up all of these points, but does not effectively support the points made.…
