Re: Talking Points for delay of latest video game release
CC: Leadership Team
To all concerned, as everyone in the company knows Zombie Nation is scheduled to be released in November, 2013. The company has realized the efforts over the past two years has been immense, the developers of the game have been working tirelessly to create a game that will engulf the customer in the zombie experience. Beginning in May of 2013 quality control began to beta test the game and giving customers the opportunity to test the game and giving feedback through various social network channels. The marketing department did a magnificent job of campaigning on August 15, 2013 to promote the game for its holiday release. As with many marketing campaigns soon after pre-orders were made available on September 15, 2013 the demand was overwhelming. On October 12, 2013 quality control and developers discovered a bug in the game that dramatically impacts how the game is played which means quality is impacted.
As a result of these findings, CEO, George Reyes engaged a team of consultants to investigate this issue and determine what direction the company should go in this matter. After reviewing the data, customer impact, company impact it is with deep regret that the company will delay the release of the game until the game bug is completely fixed. The best date to release the game pending the fixing of the bug would be January 15, 2014. As a company we pride ourselves and have built this company on ethical principles and the goal of always doing the right thing not only for our customers but for our employees also.
