3. The distance between scale markings on the horizontal scale is 100 km. Comparison of the vertical and horizontal scales indicates that the vertical scale is exaggerated [(10)(100)(1000)] times relative to the horizontal scale.…
The data was plotted and graphed into a chart to show the trend. Based on the chart the index has shown an increase from year to year during December but the other winter months do not show a clear trend.…
GPS are system of satellites, computers, and receivers that can indicate the position of a receiver in relation to the latitude and longitude of a receiver on Earth.…

The purpose of this experiment is to review simple mathematical and graphing techniques. In Part A mostly “mathematical treatments of data” will be reviewed as well as a basic review of graphing. Part B will expand on more elaborate graphing techniques.…
The Oklahoma Land Run of 1889 was probably one of the most prominent of the land runs. Although there were seven land runs in Oklahoma altogether, with the 1983 Cherokee Strip Land Run being the largest land run in the history of the United States.…
to the presence of an infectious agent(s) or its toxin(s), (2) that occurs during a hospital admission, (3) for which there is no evidence the infection was present or incubating at admission, and (4) meets body site-specific criteria.6 Patient-days were defined as the total number of days that patients were in the hospital.…
Sometimes lack of competition gives a false sensation of security. I think this may be the problem that TerraCog faced. TerraCog had been the very top GPS manufacturer ahead of any other competitor and this made them very confident of their position in this rapidly growing field of technology though they had plans and projects of their own. When a new competitor appeared they couldn't realize the threat imposed on their market lead and the new situation that needed to deal with, hence review their current plans. Even when their Marketing managers told them that they are starting to lose market shares to their competitor, they just deluded themselves that it was just the holiday season and that their competitor wouldn't last. They even couldn't see that their competitors wouldn't easily abandon the lead it achieved. After lingering for a precious time in denial they were awaken very late by the fact that they are losing unless they can cope with the new technology introduced and even that they are having other competitor (Garmin) who was able to adopt this technology in more feasible way than they do.…
Herman Melville comes closer to Nathaniel Hawthorne’s cynicism not Henry James. Melville thinks that Hawthorne shows you the loveliness and infatuation of life then later on frightens you with the ideas of sin, evil and guilt. James says that all that Hawthorne’s work is dark and mysterious, and simply that, nothing more, which I think is incorrect. There are plenty of reasons why Melville understands the message and pessimism behind Hawthorne’s writing that James does not see.…

All the twenty nine weather stations are distributed quite evenly in the entire kingdom. A spatial interpolation technique is used to predict the wind speed between the weather stations, where direct measured data is not available. In this analysis, the method used to convert the point data into raster format is the inverse distance weighted, IDW. It determines cell values using a linearly weighted combination of a set of sample points. The weight is a function of inverse distance. The surface being interpolated should be a variable dependent on location. The IDW interpolation technique was applied as it was found to be more accurate. Ali et al. [32] tested five wind speed interpolation methods (i.e. IDW, global polynomial interpolation, local polynomial interpolation, spline with 3 sub-types, and kriging with 4 sub-types) in Iraq. Based on the root mean square error values, the predicted values are compared with actual values for period between 1971 and 2010. The results demonstrated that the IDW yielded the best results, while the ordinary Kriging method occupied…
